I remember California DMV. The guy taking the test had a Russian interpreter. The interpreter would read the question and point to the answer to the test taker. I need to learn Russian!

Texas is funny, but if you do not have a USA passport or Birth Certificate, no driver's license. A Russian lady was there demanding her Texas driver's license, raising a ruckus. She doubled down, and DPS realized she didn't have a VISA or ties to Texas, and arrested her to be transferred to Home Land Security. No clue what she was saying, but I could only imagine.

My family is back in Sacramento, so looking at moving back (to East Sacramento). My sister pointed out 92F, and 61F overnight. Meanwhile, 103F, dropping to 79F overnight (feels pretty muggy) in Texas.

The funniest was "Taxi" What does a yellow light mean?

If you move back to Sacramento area find a place outside sacramento proper. Elk Grove, Galt, Ione or some rural or simi rural area. Sac has changed greatly over the last several years and not for the good. You’ll experience culture shock coming from Texas to sacramento California. But once you are outside Sacramento things can be pretty pleasant.

    Evening all:

Now be a good bear and get out of here!
The bear showed up in his yard and this guy escorted it to the gate. There is a full video on this, but I don't know to post it, right before the bear left it took a swipe at him and left claw marks on his side, happened at Lake Harmony which is maybe 25 mi. North of me.
IMO! Watching the video, I would think this is a bear that people there are feeding, including him, and it is used to people, it "ALMOST" acted like a dog until it decided not to and took a swipe at the guy, luckily it was only a "love tap" and he lifted his shirt to show the claw marks.

That's a good size bear Carl. That guy sure is lucky. People need to learn not to feed the animals it only creates a problem for the animals when they get aggressive and the game folks euthanize them :(. We have them up country around our place but they don't bother any one. Here's the video.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

We had major flooding here last night from some huge thunderstorms. Lots of road damage - already had deep ruts in our road before I went to bed at 11 and the water was still flowing like a river. 6" of water in the old farmhouse basement. Ugh.

Good morning. Yesterday was an old school cook with a twist. The chicken came out great and was tasty, even the charred areas of the chicken tasted good. I had in chicken is a spicy marinade for 5 hours, but you could barely notice the heat flavor. I roughed in the install of the old pond lights then the rain started and did not stop. The awning we installed was a welcomed cooking aid yesterday. Not much planned for today.

The beauty of an old stone foundation. It drains itself and is already cleared - furnace looks good. Just waiting for the water heater sensor to dry before powering it back up. The water heater is elevated so it should be OK.
