A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! I'll do this, then go back and catch up! Long day UNTIL the Horns game - then I was all happy again!
 The highway loop over to Fiesta Texas where the C&C is a forever construction project. On the way in, signs said "COMPLETE FREEWAY CLOSURE 9/9", so can't go home.
On I-10, the exit for Fiesta TX is now being demolished.
It was crowded at the entry still at 7:15, and the lot was very full when I got in.
There used to be an "unenforced courtesy rule", where various groups had marked spots (public, we all could see where), and would park together. But the show car area IS "first come first served", and all these new early arrivals parked anywhere and everywhere. Only the Minis, some Mustangs, and some Dodges were anywhere close together. Everyone else was scattered. They have done this new entry time for 2 shows now, and by the cars I found, there are some groups that just don't care for I think. I'm one that doesn't.
But, you shouldn't complain about a FREE show with 3000-ish cars, right? Well, it's an hour and a half trip, no friends show up, and if the only thing easy to find is the exotics, it's kind of a long walk....
Annnnnd, since I couldn't get home the same way, figured I'd have to go around after my tuner visit. Highway to his house was shut down, coming and going, and he couldn't flash the tune, because apparently aftermarket head units cause a problem, and I didn't want to rip the dash apart.
Annnnnd, the wife messaged that a hose to my motion detector sprayer had blown off, and was spewing water - apparently all night, because we had low water pressure.

OK, on with what show I got! The reserved Exotics lot featured (2) Bugatti Chirons, a Rolls custom, and some other assorted large chunks of money. And sorry @johneman , the Vettes had no line up, only saw a few scattered when I put up the camera - but I did get one on the move. And trucks? One 66 Ford that has no pic, because everyone jus stood around it. And a 67-68 Chevy.

Kurt thanks for sharing the pics! Many bring back great memories. I’ve been into cars and trucks my whole life. My dad had pickups, I learned to drive on a 56 ford pickup. Bought my first new truck a 1975 Ford. Have owned10 pickups over the last 50 years. Haven’t been without one. The pic of the MR2 brought back memories. Had a new 86 MR2 , most fun car ever. A pocket rocket that with its mid engine cornered better than any car I ever had. Loved the MG you pictured. I had one for a summer once. I had dozens of cars. I built muscle cars in the late 60’s early 70’s. They were scary powerful and fast. I’ve had 3 Mustangs including a 65. Had corvettes and never had but dreamed of a 65 corvette. Had a 67 XKE Jaguar a very cool and fun car. A neighbor of mine has an 65 corvette with just 50000 miles on it. It’s pristine. I go hang out in his garage and drool. And the list goes on . Makes me want to buy a classic car or truck but I don’t have room in the garage for another vehicle.
I really look forward to your car/truck pics. Thank you!

I'm just gonna like THIS part!

Thank you sir, and everyone else who enjoys them. When I first started going, there were so many truck friends at the show, I never went to the show. No, it's all show!

I'm going to try and cool my fever, and get the garage "emptied", so I could put something in there when the need arises! As slow as that's gone.....

And we came THIS close last night!

2018 to 2023 has been a shock—a huge increase in homeless downtown. Initially, I thought of home in Midtown (16th to 29th), but it's also a shit show (sadly, literally). Tram is great, but after 10 PM it's a different world out there (9th and K). My nephew is about my size (I'm 6'3" 245) so no one messed with us.

East Sacramento is mainly residential, so the homeless get run out of there, and people hate panhandlers. So little better in that area. Small house and an ADU (auxiliary dwelling unit). Sacramento has three ADU plans (400 to 660 sq ft) preapproved streamlining permits (no variations allowed in the building). My Brother, two nephews, and family are all involved in construction trades. It is about $200 Sq ft for turnkey, but you can build much cheaper (I can hang drywall, but let a contractor mud and texture). Close to Sac State, about $ 1,500 per month for one bedroom. https://adu.cityofsacramento.org/permit-ready-plans

Two Parkinson's Boxing Gyms in the Greater Sacramento area. The oldest is about 20th and G (Hope in Your Corner boxing); the Other is Roseville/Rocklin (HWY 65 & Blue Oaks). Sadly, the one near Carmicheal closed during Covid lockdowns. Roseville is a driving city; you need a car to get around. Cycling is better than Texas, but you are still on six-lane roads with many shopping malls.

I need to work out three times a week. Ideally, within a 2-mile walk of the house, otherwise bike. I plan to keep the Tacoma for those long camping trips when I have one of the kids to drive (drop dad and dog at the base camp, and kids can take a week backpacking). Most of the time, put some gas stabilizer in the tank, battery tender, and it will sit (I wish I still had my 1974!). Garage with lots of ventilation!

I went to Medora and the the south unit of the national park this weekend, great scenery, the weather didn't cooperate for launching hot balloons kinda a bummer. The vast open spaces were nice. Found out when you reach a certain age you get a discount on national park entrance. On a political note, write your representatives send a request to keep wild horses from being killed, in the first picture on this post there are a couple of them mixed in with the buffalo. There is a bill to destroy these animals. Sad very sad. Got to see coyotes and mule deer. But plenty to do and see.

Can't agree that we should allow feral horses to multiply endlessly...

They should never have been allowed to repopulate after the big round-ups that happen continuously and always will as long as they aren't managed to limit their numbers. And they live miserable lives... and die ugly deaths. If they were behind a fence we would arrest their owners and prosecute them for neglect.

@Travlr I guess I have not looked into it that much, the horse population is a couple hundred animals they all look healthy in this park. They are among the buffalo in the back. I've heard about how fast they reproduce. In the national park on the western 1/4 of the state they are free range. I believe that they could allow a season for them. Our culture hasn't come to grip with eating horse meat, they do in Canada. During the 2nd WW you could buy horse because beef was rationed my father said horse meat was good. I guess I'm not a fan of the distruction of this animal with out a reasonable attempt to control it like they do deer, bear ECT.

These guys held up traffic for about 20 minutes or so. One of them came as close as 8-10' we didn't get out of the car.
