60+ year old thread.

My vitrectomy was inevitable. As I was being wheeled on the gurney down to surgery my retina was actually detaching . Plus it was torn in more than 10 places the doctor said . The shadow of darkness was creeping in from the bottom left of my eye . That eye is a little funky but zero floaters ,lucky I can see as well as I do ! . The right eye where they did straight up laser repair is loaded with floaters ,some fairly large . If I close one eye the double vision goes away I can still shoot with a scope . I am left handed and left eye dominant.

 

Imagine how small the instruments are to operate on the inside of your eye . But first the needle to drain the eye ball they put a gas bubble back in to inflate the eyeball then it makes new vitreous fluid and pushes the gas out over about 6 weeks . Was real fun .

 

I read somewhere they use some "flint knapped" (loose term) stone for eye surgery because it is so sharp.

 

The paint / clear coat on these trucks around the handles got scratched by finger nails. I purchased vinyl protectors for it so far it's worth it.

 

I'm getting so old that all my friends in Heaven will think I didn't make it.

 

My dad lost an eye when he was twenty, in 1926 after he bought his first brand new car, a Buick, and a drunk hit him head on. He thought the fluid he felt was blood and went home and to bed... and the next morning his eye was deflated.

 

Holy crap

 

I'm terrified of losing my sight.... Pretty sure I could handle losing a limb better than an eye.

, I have a friend who lost an eye in a corvette accident, haven't seen him in a while, but was told recently that he is now blind in the other eye, that's on top of getting blown up in Vietnam and having to have multiple operations on his one ear for some type of infection in the ear canal that was a result of the blast.

I just got done reading something interesting, my hunting buddy asked me if I saw A.J. Petrucci lately, he said he looks rough. He is a local professional wrestler who I have known for years, I looked him up on the computer and there was a pic. of him from just a couple years ago, he does look different from the last time I saw him but seems like he's doing just fine and was still wrestling @ 70! He's a little more famous than I thought, he was more of a lacky in the big-time arena and Jimmy Snooka beat him with one hand behind his back , but he held the heavyweight title and a tag team title on one of the smaller promotions. After going through all the antics of wrestling, the only injuries he said he sustained was a few dislocated joints and some broken capillaries, sounds like he was one of the lucky ones! BTW, he's also a good guy, he seems to be always pleasant and smiling when I bump into him.

 

The vinyl does a great job protecting the door. My door pull handles are painted match the truck color and the paint is flaking off.

 

The handles came painted from factory on TRD Sport trucks I believe.

Morning porch pals, Ringo and his All Stars kept me up past my bedtime last night. Great show, at 66 I was a youngster in the crowd.

@jwctaco looked like a fun concert. I haven't been to a concert in awhile.
Some of the people I would like to see are missing original members. Seeing Ringo would be interesting he's 84.

 

He runs a first class show, played almost 2 hours. He sings most of the show, the other drummer was amazing. Brought back a lot of memories.

 

It was one of the best cover bands out there. Edgar Winter, one guy from Toto, one guy from Men at Work, great show and I was one of the younger in the crowd.

 

Edgar Winter, would have been good also. Did they do Free Ride? Or any of the stuff the other guys did. Like Africa,
I read the article about Dr Hook wrong. It was there producer.

 

Yep,3 Edgar tunes, 3 Toto tunes, 3 Men at Work tunes, and they played Jonnie B Goode , excellent cover of Chuck Berry, plus all the Beatles songs with Ringo on vocals.
