I can strongly relate to you on the torture chamber Chuck, PT twice a week and yes the back feels a bit better until they twist turn and exercise it to hell and back . But if it helps, I'll give it a go.

I guess I should have taken a pic (I know, I always do!) of the bedload of cardboard boxes. Flattened, and I still filled it up. Guess I'm a little behind on that chore.

    So, the AC guy came, and it really acted up for him, probably made it quick for him to find this;

    20231031_143012.jpg

Wife said I could have fixed it, and that's probably true. But if there was a cause past old age and summer stress, I would not have known. Which is why I bought the service retainer. And she gets the $60 fee for the visit.

So, as longs as heating/AC is being worked on, I added a little fan for the radiant heater in the sunroom. If I can avoid having to pull out one of those 1500W cubes this winter, I'll be very happy. Cheap enough to buy and find out.

OK, recommendation time! Anyone have a better suggestion for headlight lenses than the Cerakote kit? We did my sons Prius last fall, and just marveled at how well it worked. But, they are cloudy again already. Not horrible, but not like they were. I guess if it's $20 annually, not bad. Other kits I tried were cheapo Turtle Wax and such, and the lights were replaced before long term use.

So, a year is good? Got a better to try? Let me know! Thanks.

Does anyone know what the difference in illumination is between a clear lens and a cloudy lens?

    My old eyes do!
The basic issue is focus. Newer LED make this less of an issue, but halogens and such depend on the reflector, and the outer lens for focus. Cloudy lenses really spread the beams out, and shorten the throw.
REALLY good details are found in the lighting threads of crashnburn80 - who is an Engineer in real life. There are too many threads to choose from!

Kurt I don’t think it much matters what Kit you use. They all do a good job of making the lens clear. But then after a couple months the lens start to cloud again. When they get foggy/cloudy in the first place it is because the UV protectant in the lens from the factory has diminished over time. When you use one of the kits it’s destroys any remaining UV protectant left. The secrete to keeping them clear is to apply a couple times a year a clear UV protectant. I did my lights around 4 or 5 years ago. They are still clear although I can see some slight fogging starting. My truck is outside 24/7.
    Here’s what I use 2x a year.
IMG_0310.jpg Here’s my headlights (pic taken 3 years after I cleared the lights.
IMG_1474.jpg Bottom line if you don’t use a protectant they will fog over again quickly. A couple minutes twice a year and you are good as gold.

Thank you sir! I believe the Cearakote was supposed to provide that, so I will investigate that as well!

Happy Halloween from Sunny Southern (way southern) California. Tomorrow I cover my Minnie Winnie until our next trip early November to Borrego Springs with neighborhood friends at the "Springs RV Resort"
Real pain putting on an RV cover using a ladder, no way in hell I'm climbing on the RV roof for this chore. First of all I am too heavy at 230lbs. to be climbing around up top on the roof. That's my major project for the day tomorrow.
Today was a good day, fixed my wife's Jacuzzi tub handle. Submitted and got approved a Warranty claim on my TREX decking 3 years shy of the 25 year warranty period.

Did not touch any last night, not even the mini snickers.

Mor PT Drill Sergent More PT. Sorry could not resist. I still do almost 45 minutes of therapy every day for my back and shoulders. Trying to keep future pain at bay.

Kurt, I just hit the headlights with a buffer and polishing compound. Going to do my sisters headlights on her Tahoe either today or tomorrow. I noticed they were really cloudy and I have the time as I wait on the replacement handle. I will try and take some pics.

Good morning. We had about 8 sets of trick or treaters last night. Remaining candy needs to go to work with my son. A balmy 35 degrees here this morning. Might have to turn on the heat today. Working on the curbside find Weber gas grill yesterday and had a screw holding on the back burner tube refuse to come out. Eventually had to cut it off with a Dremel Tool. Going to buy a couple of small drill bits and drill out the remaining stud today. Grill is cleaning up easily. Should be finished with the project today.

Went to see a specialist eye surgeon yesterday. Right eye is turned inward, resulting in double vision. Doc is very confident that it can be fixed. So, we are off and running with this... testing, two physicals, trips to doctors, hospitals, etc. SIL, DIL offered to shuttle us back and forth. Initial trip to surgeons' office in Cincinnati yesterday. Next up is a physical at my family doctor in a week, then another at the surgeon's office, then the actual surgery at a hospital surgery center. I was hoping to be done with it by Christmas, but it's already been rescheduled once, so just have to go with the flow.

Barring what the marketing people tell us, I read a good Consumer Reports article a few years ago. Results were pretty much the same for all kits, lasted a year +/- a bit. Reality is once you have lost/removed the UV layer from the HLs, they will cloud up again and again over time. Only "fix" I know of are new OEM HLs.

BTW, my OEMs were clouding after about 9 years. I took them to a body shop that sanded them down and re-cleared them with a "UV clear" (...marketing term??), but 1.5 years later, they are still good. Place only charged me $40/HL, I figured it was worth it. So far, so good.
