 Offering your carrier a bottle of water on a hot day goes a long way towards a good relationship. The USPS is one of the last government services that is a good bang for the buck. And our politicians are trying their best to mess it up.

    Welcome to the thread.

Good morning. Laundry day and lots of small easy tasks to do. Pick up the wife at 10:30 tonight from the airport.

Got friends and family that retired from the USPS, they worked there asses off. Plus the security, take something off my porch, no big deal. Take / steal something from my mailbox, Federal offense, and they prosecute!

I like my postal delivery guy. You could almost set your clock by him. You know if he takes a vacation or a day off, but I'm on a car route. And the guys at our small post office are all helpful. At the large one they are ok but stressed. The lines there always out the door. But they do a lot of passports. Our little office does them only at certain times. I'm sure it's a staffing thing.

Well, the "Day that shall live in Infamy" has rolled around again....... sort of 9-11 for an earlier generation. Brought about a lot of the aircraft development seen in Kurt's hanger shots - sort of woke up America's technology advance.

A mining machinery salesman I used to do occasional business with, used to go to the Montgomery Bar in Gillette, Wyo (across from the railroad station) and buy all the Kamakazi's you could handle, all day long........ Many went down in flames........

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Two more beautiful days before a little change. Truck comes home today! So, I'll be putting some things back together, along with the other putz still on the list. I know I've been putzing a lot when the phone won't recognize my fingerprint anymore.

Cookies made! Big everything cookies for all the delivery people and USPS. We put a basket out front, and a cookie in the mailbox. For some reason, our street is on the rural route, even though we're in the city. We've had great carriers since we've been here, and the Post Office is great. Understaffed, yes. And the newest Post Master isn't the most popular we've had - but he's in charge of implementing all those changes when they put the new guy in charge, and apparently, he's a big believer. But the drivers still get cookies!

They look very fetching Mike! Hope they fetch you some fishies!

I started my cookie baking on Sunday, the first batch yielded 60 peanut butter cookies (I needed to taste test some of the batter to make sure it was acceptable for cookies). As you can see from the photo, one cookie was defective and needed to be put down. :p

I had assumed that top tray was full of the "unacceptables" that needed to be "disposed" of.

No, later that day I baked 75 chocolate chip cookies so the cooling racks were being used in rotation; after the cookie bake finished I then did two trays of my "special" brownies. No, they aren't that "special", I simply load them up with extra chocolate, several tablespoons of orange zest, and maybe a third of a cup of brandy. :)

Well, time to put things together. Just going to wipe dust off where i need to work, because it's suppose to rain. All one color!

Grille is still at the shop. We discovered a chip where it hit a rack while moving.
