My dad was Manager of Research and Development for Spudnuts. Remember them? IMO the best doughnuts ever produced by a national doughnut chain. Me and my siblings were his guinea pigs, so we got to try all the new products before they were in stores, and all the experiments that never made it. Spudnuts failed after he quit due to some funny business they were pulling with their franchises. But damn, I miss good doughnuts.

    Morning all:

    Reminds me of this:
Some guys would leave stuff that they didn't eat in the frig at work for the next day that kept disappearing. One guy took a collection from the shower drains, mostly body hair that had accumulated, and placed it on either a hamburger or cheeseburger that he then left in the fridge, food left in the fridge stopped disappearing after that!

It's not a mean thing, some people just need friendly reminders to change behaviors for those that feel entitled. I worked at another place that had things going on like Carl had going on, but the individual took the supervisors food and he was let go. The supervisor didn't believe it was happening till it happened to him. I still don't understand how a person could steal from his coworkers. He was fired on the spot. Nobody had to take measures into their own hands.

A little something every chance we get.
Long, shorter day with the motor. That thing has so much Kroil, it's probably saturated! I got saturated too, and called it quits after a couple sit downs. Knocked a few of these gland nuts of the intakes, but did that cause anything to come loose for me? Of course not.

    20240110_115409.jpg

More exciting, on my way out, they were trying to fire the 1918 Republic truck. It has never run since it's been here. They got a kid (!) from NAPA who wanted to stop by, and it fired twice last week. Hasn't really run, but.... I haven't found a better way than YouTube to get you a quick look and listen - it was loud!

Saw a guy beg for his life one day, because he had hidden a coworker's lunch. It was loud and ugly. Found out later, that lunch was the guy's only meal that day.
The guy who did it didn't show up for work next day. Boss insisted he take a day off. No one ever said another word about it. I'd bet money it won't ever happen again.

Good morning. New printer came yesterday, and it is already set up and working. Need to set up the upstairs computer to print to it over the network. I might add it to my router too. My router also serves as a NAS, although it is pretty slow in that mode. Going through all the paint cans to see which ones go to the dump tomorrow.

Good Morning Everyone, have a good day.
I have to get new license plates for my truck today, the skins covering the metal is coming off. So it's going to cost a arew extra bucks then just tabs . It will be cheaper than renewing the tabs and then have to replace the plates later. The last time I went through the car wash it almost took it off. In this state the plates stay with the owner you move them from every different car you replace. These have been on 4 Tacomas and are probably 15 + years old. I'll have to learn a new number.

Our renewals are based on age and weight. The tabs are 95, the plate is 5 extra and a convenance fee of 5 more bucks. It will go down to a low of 89.00 and stay there till I replace it or I expire.

LOL at the caulk gun lesson! And yes...I do LOVE a cake donut...frosted chocolate with good coffee (not Starbucks) or as an alternate accoutrement...at the bottom of a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream.

Have a great thursdee (how it is said 'round here)
