X2, a year seems like a long time to heal, wishing her all the best.

ALMOST got the pine tree mess cleaned up, next step is getting a ladder out and cutting off the big branches that splintered but didn't break off.

All the old farts I know including myself complain about sleeping lousy. And all of us wish we didn’t have to pee so often. I can remember drinking a 6 pack of beer and not needing to go for hours when I was young. Now watching a beer commercial on tv and I head for the bathroom.

Welcome to the Porch Scott. Pull up a chair, but stay out of Mike's recliner and the new guy has to fill the cooler.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone! I helped her celebrate the fact that she has been released from the constant face down resting / healing position by taking her to a favorite restaurant this eve. There was what I took as a favorable sign - when she told me I was a piss poor excuse for a chauffeur....

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

I'm sorry about your wife's eye difficulties, Steve @GREENBIRD56 . It sounds like she's on the mend but, wow, what a close call!!

Welcome to the porch Scott @ATLGuy !!

Went back into physical therapy last week to try to work on my hip issues - osteoarthritis, labral tears and partially healed-over hamstring tears on both sides. And, I have to say that finally, after a years of pain, I'm feeling better. Stronger. Almost no pain and walking much better. I've got a different therapist who doesn't know me as well as the previous one. Yesterday, he put me on the sled push/pull where you push a weighted sled 50' and then drag it back. There were 2 50 pound weights in the sled and he pulled one out and said "See if this is too much." I looked at him and said "Seriously? Put the other one back in." He did and said "Ok, see if you do 3 reps with this weight." It took me about 1.5 minutes to complete - more of a cardio than a muscle workout. He laughed and said "I guess I need to put more weight in the sled next time." These young folks underestimate us older ones, sometimes.

Glad you caught the problem quickly. It is a long road back to being healed and even then, there will be yearly checkups and possibly eye drops every day.

    Truth!

    Welcome to the porch.

Good morning. Supposed to get up to 60 today and tomorrow. HT has pork shoulders on sale for 97 cents a pound. Limit two and I bought two and had them sliced up into steaks. Smoked pork steaks for dinner tonight.

I wish your wife luck ! I had a vitrectomy in my left eye in 2016 and 3 tears in my right retina 2017 . I’m lucky I can see pretty good . I do have slight double vision though . This is what got the ball rolling for early retirement. I still drive and hunt . The side effect of these surgeries is cataracts . So I also had both eyes done for that then the capsule in the eye that holds the artificial lens clouded up and that had to be cleaned up with laser . Make sure she takes it easy ,no lifting or straining or bending over for a looooong time .@GREENBIRD56
