Hey, some sorta "great news" I forgot from yesterdays Wing meeting. We might be seeing a lot more of that P51 (which is a great attraction!), because one of the only 3 pilots qualified is one of ours, who lives in Austin, and the Centex Wing (us) has the only "no charge for CAF planes" hangar in the country - we've never charged. So....when it's out and about, and our guy needs to fly it......

    20240221_095457.jpg

Now, in case you think these fly boys have it easy, they have to qualify and STAY qualified on virtually every plane in the CAF if they want to fly it, AND they have to pay an insurance fee for the EACH plane for that privilege. Aside from the memberships cost.

I don't know of too many poor pilots! We have some that are still working - and most of them in commercial work all over the country. And we have the retired pilots - many ex-military and commercial. Most of the CAF aircraft that attract attention are worth about what your average Toyota GT might be, and just about as irreplaceable!

Amen and :amen:. Same here, although I do take a B Complex from Costco and 20 mg of zinc. That has pretty much kept the cooties away...C19 included. No jabs either...and an occasional Ibuprofen for farm-aches...and usually one does the trick.

Good morning. Wonderful early dinner yesterday. My sister, nephew, my son's godmother and two family friends joined us. My son performed between the two breaks the music artist took during his gig.

Today is our day Napping Day - Search (bing.com) LOL Today is going to be a good one. Wind from yesterday continues into the morning but should die down in the late morning. I had a pretty busy day planned but my wife has laryngitis so lunch is a no go, and I was going to give blood before lunch so I might hold off on the blood donation.

Good morning! Happy Monday to me and the rest of the donut makers. Happy ... umm...day to those that have finished making donuts.
Spent the weekend recovering from a solid week at our annual National Sales Meeting at HQ. Wow... brain drain.
Big excitement for the weekend was a trip to Home Depot, Harbor Freight, washing the Tacoma, kicking back with fam, church, and watching the St. Pete Grand Prix on TV (even though we are close enough to hear the cars).

That's the thing about St. Petersburg...it's so busy no one goes there anymore. :D I think the late, great Yogi Berra said something like that.

Great morning to all! It’s going to be another beautiful day here in the low 60s!
I got an invite to go fishing today on some private ponds! I’m excited! Haven’t fished since the fall. He and his wife were there a couple of days ago and caught crappie, perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass.
Coffee, muesli breakfast, a quick kettlebell workout, shower and shave the off to the ponds! Woohoo!
I hope everyone’s day will be at least as fun as my plans are!

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/flyboys. I don't mind if some young whippersnappers want to hang out on the porch, so long as they're in the cooler filling rotation. No free lunches guldernit!

We had an unsettled day weather-wise yesterday, to put it mildly. Temps ranged across at least 30 degrees, wind came and went, sun came and went too. We had two bouts of what I'm calling "snow hail", little balls of snow that are just downright weird looking and feeling. They came down at a speed somewhere between snowfall and rainfall too. Both events came and went very quickly -- the sun was out, then it wasn't, then it "snow hailed" for a minute or two, then the sun came back out. First time I've seen anything like it.

    snow_hail.jpg

Close! Yogi was asked about a popular restaurant. He answered, "Nobody goes there anymore -- it's too crowded!" It's one of my favorite Yogi-isms.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Can't complain about our weather, except that it's too nice not to do some more yard clean up. And, I think it's time for the pots to come out of the greenhouse. At least that will make the garden beds look better... ish.
Tomorrow, wife goes for follow up, and change to a splint, and I see what goes from there. I have some Dr. appointments I need to make that I been putting off.

Got a nice profit sharing check from work last week, so it was time to buy a new washer and dryer set. We went with speed queen. Last of the American made brands. Really expensive but they have a great reputation for being durable and long lasting. And you can get parts for them unlike all the import crap that's out there. All mechanical timers and no electronic crap. We went with the best since they where basicly free anyway. Delivery on saturday.

Good Morning kids :hattip: I am not allowed to do laundry in our house. Something about not doing it correctly.:fistbump: Great choice on the Speed Queen, father in law retired from Whirlpool years ago, always talked up the Speed Queen products.
