The initial look showed a slight frame bump just where you describe - caused when her front bumper hit my trailer hitch square on. I take it in on the 14th and they'll strip it down and see there is any more frame damage and then get a better estimate of repair costs.

That about says it all!!! I got a call from my cpap resupply place this morning (remember this - about the 7th call since November) and was asked if I had done my welcome to medicare with my sleep doc. NO, didn't know I needed one. Only thing I ever saw that needed a welcome to medicare visit was my GP. Nope, I need to actually see the doc before I can get any supplies. Called the doc's office and was transferred to another person and told her that I needed an appointment yesterday.... she laughed and asked why and I told her. Guess when the soonest I can get in is??? 28 August. Nope, not a typo, so now I need to hunt down the supplies I need somewhere else and :spending:. Why in all the other 6 calls did they not tell me this?!??!?!?!

This is why I like my small town. I can usually get in to see my doc the same day I call.

I am sure that they are wrong. You only have to see your GP for Medicare to pay for CPAP and supply’s. Talk to your doctor and then talk to the CPAP supply company. Ask them where it says you must see a sleep doctor and not your personal doctor. If you are getting a new CPAP machine which Medicare will pay for/replace every 5 years your GP not a sleep doctor needs to write a short letter with very specific information. It’s easy and simple. Don’t know who you get your cpap and supply’s from but suggest you try going through Apria, they are nation wide and are experts in cpap and working with Medicare.
Also be sure you use your cpap nightly, the pressure is set to the optimum setting and your AHI is less than 4 or less. If higher than 4 see your doctor. Your AHI can be higher than 4 and still be ok but if it is discuss with your doc. Noncompliance with cpap or high AHI can affect heart rhythm and since you have afib can bring on episodes of afib or other arrhythmia like svt (supraventricular tachycardia). I hope you can get this worked out quickly. Good luck Sue.

My blood pressure prescription was cancelled the day Medicare took over. I had to get a new prescription from my doctor, even though the previous one was just issued a month prior. It wouldn't surprise me i the same applies here.

Good Morning Everyone Have a Great day

    @ImpulseRed008
Sue sorry to hear about that when I went to my sleep Dr at 64 my gal informed me I had to see her for my supplies the month I went on Medicare to reaffirm my need and every year after that to continue getting stuff. it's a hoop our great ruler puts in place to keep costs down. I would suggest if available contracting your sleep person on my chart or have your cardiologist contact him for you. Depending on the machine you have you can get some supplies from Walmart on line to fill in or in store. I recently forgot to put a extra filter in when traveling and the hotel I was at picked up a smell of smoke that lingered and found replacement that worked. I know my gal always says I can contact her through my chart at anytime and she can do a lot over that portal. Good luck. You don't need those stressors.

Medicare, ie socialized medicine for the old. If only we had been aware of the nightmare when we were young. Roosevelt didn’t do us any favors.
Each year my Medicare checkup gets pushed out months! I try to make the appointment before I ever leave the office, but they won’t/can’t do it. I have to wait months to make the appointment, then it’s pushed out 3-6 months longer. Very frustrating, and sadly it’s only going to get worse.
Luckily (not really!) I probably won’t have to deal with it too many more years.
Best of luck Sue! Be tough!

On a brighter note, the winds will be down to below 20 mph today, so maybe after kettlebells I can get my zucchinis planted. May go pick up a few Early Girl tomatoes and start toughening them up before time to get them in the ground.

A good day to get some vitamin D! Have a great day everyone and take care of yourselves…no one else will do it!

When Social Security was started, it was to give people dignity in their elder years, instead of dying homeless and hungry. You don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. I survive on Social Security unfortunately. If it’s broken, fix it!

Good morning. Back home and started to get some rest. Slept 10 hours last night but need to do the same tonight. Going to take it easy today, just a small shopping trip to BJ's and a music lesson.

Only wish we could, but as in every government department the bureaucracy is so deep it’s virtually impossible to change/fix.

They could write some new regulations; I'm sure that would help. Extend coverage to a new set of folks and hire more people to check on the people who are already there.

I have to say for the health care I need for my wifes and my issues the only providers difficult to get appointments with are urologists and endocrinologists both are minimum 1 yr out unless you go to the ER. My colonoscopy was booked 19 months out. That is going to be 9 months past due. A field of medical providers we don't use in our area I have heard is back logged with long waits is phycology. But as far as Medicare it's the wellness exam I think is a joke. I wish that was as good as my sleep exam. I almost have to ask if she has other patients to see.

Tom I hope BJ's is a store. Because I have not heard of them. o_O . When we went to Florida we seen a grocerie store we haven't had around for 30yrs. My wife and I had to have our pic taken in front of it. On of our friends used to manage one in Minot. We sent him a pic . It made his day. Piggy Wiggly

I'm more of the mindset when I hear I'm from the government I'm here to help..... Run....... No they already extended it to new groups of people. That's the problem. Some who haven't paid in. I found a receipt a while ago in some stuff I had for a Dr visit back when I was 19 for $19 exam and strep test. Now it's the people who have insurance paying for those that don't have it. I could really go down a rabbit hole on this. But they have already made it worse.
