    My uncle was a test navigator in the B-58. My dad was a manager at Convair in the tool design group for it. Amazing plane!

    Thanks for the pics, Dennis. I'll just go with the first one of Belle - "THOSE are some jackstands!" Hope you bring great weather to Indy, so that you get what should be an excellent race this year!

    :pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! From Spring to Excessive Heat warnings; that's Central Texas in the May! No real storms in the forecast, but they are already warned to be severe if they form after all. The Tornado in Temple Wednesday was just like the other one that ripped Houston. Individual cell formed, picked a direction, and just kept going and growing. We had Tornado warnings, but by the time it got to Houston, it was a rare Derecho.

    Putz in the greenhouse and clean the back deck. Or something like that.

    Since I retired, my sleep schedule has been kinda screwy. So, my new pastime on those days that I wake up at 4:30-5:00 is to take a shower, jump in the truck and drive around town aimlessly at 5 mph under the speed limit. I try to hit all of the busy routes.

    You're welcome! :rofl::thumbsup::boink:

    I love doing that too. It’s all the old fart rage. I get out there when it’s busy and drive 5 to 10 mph under the limit. It’s amazing the number of people who wave to me with the one finger in the air, and who honk at me to get my attention. Then they yell greetings to me which I don’t hear very well without my hearing aids. Sounds like they are saying something You and something about some kind of hole. Sometimes whole car loads waive at me as they roar past me. I’m making lots of new friends. Great fun. :rofl:

    Messing with green house done. Putz is now done; which was pool poles. Wife can't put them back by the pump. They blow over in the wind, and I am tired of tripping on them when I mow, and moving them when I grill. So. .

    Last time I was at the USAF museum was about 25 years ago. They had the surviving XB-70 and a camo dressed B-52 parked outside. Walked over to the main gear of the B-70 and observed the brakes were absolutely fried! I said something about them to our lubrication engineer at our engineering office next day and he looked up and said "I worked on that brake design at Kelsey-Hayes!". According to Paul the plane had to land like the space shuttle, very hot - or it would simply fall out of the sky - they found this out the hard way of course. He said that to complete the test regimen, they decided to simply do a total rebuild of the brakes after every flight. Apparently the last flight was to Wright-Pat ...... and they towed the rascal forever after.
