I gave up on the wings - switched to legs. Soak them in "Franks" hot sauce to marinate a couple of days before grilling - then serve with a variety of BBQ sauces in sqeeze bottles to pass around.

A little something every chance we get.
I was too busy to note the irony when you posted this ...

"Mario slows on the backstretch" is a recent change (famous one at that), probably when you were planning on the trip.

Did you let Mario in on it?

You are going to be why they have great weather at the track!

As I've said to Mrs. Spruce Mica over the years, if "Gentlemen, start your engines" are the most famous words in racing "Mario slows on the backstretch" might be the second most famous. Heard them so many times over the years at Indy.

Whew that is warm. I worked in the garden till noon and stopped. It was 92 out. Going to install the plant cages today.

Now that is nice! I did a rack of ribs yesterday.

Good morning. Received a window envelop in the mail yesterday from the Aquatic Therapy company and thought was another bill from last summer. Turned out to be a refund from my therapy sessions. It was a decent amount so I will be scheduling a landscaping guy I know to come out and trim back my large holly trees in the back yard. A little work lest to do in the garden and then off to a restaurant for music and dinner. Yesterday was relaxing.

It’s been a while and I have a lot of catching up to do.

Update on the pooch, he’s doing remarkably well considering. He may not be able to see or hear much but I can peel a banana and his nose kicks in and he’ll move through the house like a pachinko ball until he finds me.

More good news, the house hunt in Ocala finally bore fruit. Wife and I both found a house we really liked, unfortunately just not the same house. I liked a 2400 sq ft 4/3/2 with practically no yard and she liked a 2000 sg ft 3/2/2 on a half acre in a 55+ community. As much as I would like to say we reached one our compromises where she gets her way, it was much more than that. I thought it over and realized everything in our current home is her, every piece of furniture, every floor covering, every paint color, all her. She has the vision and has generally kept me from doing overtly stupid things for over 40 years. So if she says she can see us in the house she likes then that’s what we’re going to do. Our offer was accepted and inspections are scheduled for Tuesday morning. The place has a 12x18 shed in the back so I’m really looking forward to making it my man cave and puttering on a 1/2 acre

Fantastic! Personally, I prefer the lot size. The shed (nice sized) is a bonus.

Glad to hear your little bud is showing you his new tricks, @Kevins60 ! That really is great news.

Happy afternoon Porch Pals & Sue! Taking it real easy today - lots of work yesterday in 101* and stupid humid, but the board got clean, and some of the deck, and we got in the pool! Water got to 87*. Some Brats in beer last night, burgers and fries tonight, and wife will make her ribs tomorrow (smoker still waiting on parts).

Stubborn diving board was about 3 hours work over two days. Have to remember to do it every year!

While I was down there, the deck needed attention too. The spinny thing on the washer really made quick work of it - spent more time moving stuff - but, being flat, I still needed to rinse after the wash. But it doesn't need any soap/cleaner to do a good job.

What was that old Boy Scout Motto... be prepared.

The brake light went out. It's a good thing I have my 40-year-old German Tool kit ready (bought when I lived in Germany).

Wise choice and nice that you found a place that works for the both of you.

Good Morning. Remembering the fallen today. @Odie2219 nice restore on the pool area. Not much planned today. Will put the finishing touches to the small garden and smoke a prime rib roast. The son wanted beef today and I needed the roast out of the freezer.
