    Afternoon all:

Mark, Cheech, and MQQSE seem to go MIA on occasion, as always, hope all is well with them.

Cool, but as makes me wonder as for driving some of them to the track though ! I had heard about something like this before, but I think the distance the car had to be driven was quite a bit less though.

Some of the Drag and drive events , the total street driving mileage has been just over 1k miles in the 5 day long event . Some of parts that fail on the race cars on the drive portion of the event are camshaft failures , rocker arm failures , broken valve springs and dropped valves . Trying to keep solid roller valvetrain alive is a major problem on these cars

The routes to ea track are set up to not be a direct route and takes you on not well traveled back roads . Some cars might take 6-8 hours to drive maybe 200 miles

Love drag racing, bracket raced a bit in the mid 1980's. Coworker is currently on vacation on the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour which is similar. He and his dad are driving a pair of Pontiac Fieros.

A little something every chance we get.
There is a FCC site or similar, that let's you see where broadcast towers are. Handy to check. Wile we are 30 miles SE of Austin, all the broadcast towers are another60 miles NW, in the hill country for elevation. Now, it was years ago, before digital, but even with a TennaRotor, got very limited channels. Just check before ya jump., all I'm saying.

Yeah, I hate seeing this kinda post. We had a situation going into this weekend where one of the members that was going to come out to play hadn't been heard from in a couple of weeks...turns out his cancer got him a couple of weeks ago.

Still alive and kicking. The new pup's schedule has me jumping without a lot of time on the PC. Lynn's Mom was transitioned into hospice two weeks ago and then passed away on May 28th. Since then we've been in planning and execution mode for the visitation, service luncheon and internment of ashes. Finally beginning to catch our wind now although Lynn has a pretty rough sinus infection now.

Truck is still in the shop. They were able to realign the frame. Might get it back this week minus the new tailgate which is on months-long backorder.

Sorry to hear about the rough couple of weeks. Good to hear about getting your truck back, maybe the insurance could find a good used tailgate?

    Evening all:

That's crazy, and to think that AA fuel dragsters turned in the 8's around the middle 60's!

:rain: Well, that was a surprise. One little orange blob of rain moseyed on down 183 right through town about 5:30 - 6:00. And it brought 1.02" inches of rain with it!
