Looking at the 1963 Galaxie reminds me of a car I used to own and to this day wishing never sold it !!

Back in the early 80's while still on active duty in the Marine Corps i I found this 67 Mercury Cyclone GT in Socal

It had very low miles and had built 390 FE with ported 428 SCJ cyl heads and a 406 Police interceptor 3x2 intake with the very rare oval aluminum Thunderbird polished aluminum air cleaner

If I had the hood open and people would go crazy and ask me if this was a 427 side oiler with dual carbs . They would even look just above the oil pan to see if it had the noticeable side oiler bulge on the block . I even had to remove the air cleaner when parked as I was afraid it would get stolen

I did have plans before selling it and installing a Ford Tunnel port 427

    Afternoon all:

Chuck, a guy that I know had almost an almost identical Cyclone to the one that you posted about, it did have a 427 in it and it really ran.

Interesting morning, stopped to BS with another old buddy, he wasn't there but showed up shortly with his brand new Corvette, which I then got an education about the inner workings of it, all I can say is it's amazing the technology that's built into them!
At his business he now has a room dedicated to his dad who was a Colonel in the Air Force, he has his flight suit, helmet, and a bunch of pictures of planes his dad flew and some other related items, think he said his dad was the base commander at the Tan Son Nhut air base.
He related a story that his dad told him, they were flying a mission over North Vietnam where his wingman had fired all of his rockets and his dad had 1 left, he noticed smoke coming up and decided to attack whatever was there with his remaining rocket. He came in at treetop level with some small branches actually hitting the plane, his son asked him if that wasn't dangerous, and the reply was that it was safer than flying higher and risking being shot down since being that low he was gone before anything could even begin to get their sights on him!
Turns out he ended up hitting either a major underground ammunition manufacturing facility or ammunition storage facility and received some type of medal for it.
Enough of the war stories, thank you Col. and may you RIP!

    Afternoon all:

Heres' an interesting tidbit my buddy showed me, his companies name is BRADCO and he deals in CO2 including the big industrial tanks. He has a personalized plate on his work truck that reads BRADCO2, his corvette has another personal plate on it that reads BRADC02, you can only get one personalized plate and they won't issue another plate like it in the state, does anyone see the difference in them,----sneaky!!!!!

I bet they wouldn't have issued those plates to separate owners. Since it was the same guy... he got them.

Yep, one uses the letter O and to other uses the numeral 0, smart sneaky guy. I to am surprised they allowed that

Good eye there @Sprig, yup, one is the letter O, and the other is the numeral zero, even though they are "almost" identical that makes them different, and that's why they issued it to him.

A little something every chance we get.
It's a pain when plans don't follow your directives..... No spare plugs to add the second pump in the greenhouse; so solder and shrink wrap. One doesn't work (was a spare). Even so, good one would not pump up the clear tube to the top. Soldered in a second spare, and now I'm out of solar battery? I have more than enough battery current + the solar to run. Sheesh. Worse off than when I started.

Nope - bought one tomato plant and planted the cucumbers and the other tomatoes grew in my compost bucket (so I moved them to a regular pot) Remember I'm in middle SC so we warm up much sooner than other places.

My wife tells me "compost tomatoes" are not something to appreciate. Something like apples, who knows what pollinated the fruit? Keep an eye on 'em and report back. I'm not the expert. But my gardener wife pulls volunteer tomatoes whenever she see them (and we get lots) I am the compost master and keep multiple piles turned and heating. but some of those seeds get going anyway! ;-)

They started growing in the compost pile, but I pulled them up and put them in a pot, away from the compost can. Can't be any different than what pollinates other veges - bees and bugs. So far the plants are doing very well - have a lot of grape tomatoes on them. Will take a picture tomorrow.

Just the first return from a "volunteer tomatoe" search string.

I know the seeds didn't blow in there - I had put old tomatoes that I didn't eat in time, in the pile, so I know where they came from. Maybe next year I won't keep them, but I want the tomatoes off the plant. It had a good start with all the old fruits/veges that were in the pile.... I ate some last year and am still here :notsure:

Kind of :jellydance:. I got a late start on the garden this year, but it is coming right along. Going to be a late harvest for me.

Good morning! Tim McGraw was fantastic last night. The tour is called SRO 24, and it was SRO. No one was sitting down. His use of lights, videos and graphics was phenomenal. Today we will try to keep cool, it is already 75 degrees at 07:00 this morning. Going out to dinner tonight at Pirates Cove in Galesville, MD.
