    Morning all:

Had thunderstorms go through last night and looks like it rained pretty good, I was liking it better when the grass was somewhat dormant, now it's coming back to life with the rain we've been getting and soon time to mow.

Best wishes for your cousin Tom, hope the rehab helps.

Glad to hear that Beryl didn't cause any major damage for anyone on here, looks like some areas got hit pretty hard with flooding and tornadoes.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Today looks like it's going to be some kind of record...4th day in a row with no rain! We don't need any more. Two weeks ago, I was in a local wildlife refuge that floods pretty badly during the spring thaw. I don't know if I posted the pic here, but the flooding from recent rains was about as bad as the spring thaw. I had fish swimming next to me! Well, I went back there on Mon, and it was worse. At the far end of what you can see here (about 3/8 mile from here), the road T's. I turned around there, the water was almost to my rocker panels (I'm lifted 2") and would get about 4" deeper before I got out either way of the T. The current would get much worse also.

I don't know how many days in a row its been over 110º here - but its not funny any more. Burned all the blooms and buds in the garden - and has started cooking the peppers. Watering and spraying everything three times a day isn't doing the job. Outdoor chores can only be attempted in the dark. Blacktop pavement in front of the house was 165º at 1:30 pm on Sunday.
Its depressing but playing with my infrared thermometer has shown some scary numbers. Returned from the shop yesterday and checked the skin of my wife's car - still 127º after 4 hours in the garage. I told her that this is adding heat to the back rooms of the house - but not something she thinks about.......

Be very careful having that! My bro-in-law and my sis caught it during the first year of the pandemic. She was over it in a week with little more than a headache. Him, not so lucky. Had to be hospitalized for a month, then moved to a therapy/care center for two months. Today he is still suffering the effects.
    Take care!

It's like any virus, it will mutate all the time and always be with us. Unfortunately.
