:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Looks like another week of too warm, and not wet. Fall is sneaky here - there's really only a couple weeks, and the days are never consecutive! Going to get the leaves out of the pool, and try to putz clean around the house. I tweaked my hip turning wrong yesterday, and my wife made me get my cane out! It does help for balance, because that joint will just quit on me if it feels like it!

Glad my heart is good shape tho - that Lions game gave me a real stress test!

    Thank You for your service.

One of my favorite veterans is in this photo—Ft McClellan in August '83. Swedish heritage and blue-eyed blond, so we have some handsome kids.

She didn't care for the gray walls when she was stationed at the 97th General Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany. You could order white or gray paint to repaint them. Well, she repainted the walls, and they looked pink. The first sergeant demanded to know why they turned pink. White over gray bleeds through, hence the pink tint, Sir! She made sure to hide the pint of red she added to the five gallons of white paint!

MASH unit, conflicts in the world, that C130 was loaded and ready to go, otherwise Operating Room Duties. Once a month, nurses are on 24-hour guard duty. These days, she is still wandering hospitals, but as Chief Nurse.

I got a call... my son's '92 Nissan 240SX died on the toll road.

It's a good thing I have an assortment of straps and soft shackles. I explained that he would provide braking to prevent rolling over the strap, and we would take it easy getting home.

I mixed a $10 bag of pot in the paint when I was told there would be dogs used to sniff out drugs in the barracks.

Well, the clean up is SLOW but it’s happening. The debris piles around our area of St. Pete are largely going away.
Now up at the farm, there are still HUGE piles of trees/limbs all up and down the roads. At our place I would estimate there are at least 2 dump truck loads of oak. Been wielding the chainsaw at the farm the past couple weekends, shoulders are sore. Hips are sore from wearing heavy boots and balancing around wood piles holding saw away from body parts. All the wood from Helene has been sitting there, and the pilehopefully the clean up crews will get to us soon. Still seeing standing water in a few places from Debby (that was in August).
Our drywall repairs are almost done. Texture guy is coming this week.
We did get a little relief from FEMA, but didn’t cover costs for repairs.
With all that said, it could’ve been way worse.
I feel so bad for the folks in NC as well.

Ridiculous question Jim, and I hope I never need to know - does FEMA pay less for "repair" than what they offer for "replacement help"? I mean, I know they don't buy a new house - it's "support help", but I wonder if the structure is based that way. I know some people who expect FEMA to buy/build them a new home - not their mission at all.

And I am GLAD to hear you're sore, and working hard!

    Edit for clarity (I hope)

Good morning all! Not as cool here today but supposed to be getting nicer by the weekend.
Interviewing with another firm for sales manager spot. Small business, 38 employees. ESOP. Had dinner with engineering manager last night. Already met with CEO.
Looks promising. Depends on what they can do in compensation, and understanding what the ESOP will do.
    Have a great day!

Good morning. High in the mid 50's today. I will take that in the middle of November.
