    Morning all:

My thoughts on DEKA: it's a battery!
My favorite battery for the "66" was the AC Delco Freedom with the green eye, I have now switched to DEKA for it and am well satisfied.
For the boats and other vehicles, I have DEKA, Interstate, Motor Craft, and Ever Start batteries which all seem to be good batteries, and one time I bought a Toyota branded battery from the dealer which I also had no problem with.
Since the "66" sits a lot, I want a battery in it that will last the full warranty period or just past it before I need to charge it in order to start it, especially during or after winter, then it's time to get another freebee :), both the AC Delco and the DEKA batteries have fit that bill so far.
From my experience, DEKA seems to be a good battery, I have also had a few other DEKA batteries over the years, like anything, a defective one can show up here and there.

Just started to snow here about 45 min. ago, no accumulation yet.

    Darn, no patience!
I also buy the highest CCA batteries available in the group size, which usually have the longer warranties.

Morning Carl, Don't remember if I relayed the story of the Walmart battery my son had in his Wrangler. We were upstate at our place and he went to start his jeep and nothing...checked the battery connections and all was good but still nothing. He put a piece of wire from poitive to negative and didn't get a spark. Took the baattery to walmart because of the warranty and they had to put it on charge so it could be checked out and after an hours charge they said the battery was okay so they couldn't exchange it :facepalm:. We put it back in his jeep and he had it in there for a couple of more years with no problem. Speak about a "strange issue". You never knowand like you said, "like anything, a defective one can show up here and there."

Have you ever used a battery minder on the '66? I bought 2 and put them on my truck and the wifes car for when we go away for 3 months. work great and never had a dead battery issue.

Never used a battery minder, the garage where I keep it is all wired but never ran power up to it!

Just ordered oil and was going to switch to another local quality supplier who is 15c a gal. cheaper, they said they would have to do an oil tank inspection before they would deliver oil ????, the supplier I get it from never did that and just delivers my oil, NBD, the tank is getting filled on Wed. by my normal supplier.
I may call them back and schedule a tank inspection and see what they have to say, they said it's free. It's an inside tank so I don't know what they will be looking for, maybe I'll fix it if they find something not to their liking, MAYBE NOT, depends!

Inside tank should be no issue unless the valve or line to the furnace is leaking.

How does one transport ammo and an unloaded gun in a SUV?

I was thinking the same Ken, the valve and line to the furnace are OK, but thinking they may want the line replaced if anything, that would be NBD if required.

It’s the same. Gun in a locked box and ammo separate not in the gun box. Both of them in the very back of the SUV.

Oh and if the manure hits the fan and you are attacked, car jacked, mugged, robbed etc., don’t worry. The thugs in California are usually quite polite and accommodating. Just ask them to give you 2 minutes while you retrieve and load your gun. They’ll at least work with you on that. :quickdraw::)

A little something every chance we get.
    So, I managed a couple up and down two steps on the step ladder. Fixed my flags wrapping. The plastic versions of this little gizmo quit rotating, until I took them off, of course. So, trying these;

Amazon.com : BONWIN Flag Pole Rings, 1" Spinning Flagpole Ring Clips, 2 Pcs Aluminum Alloy & Steel 360° Rotating Anti Wrap Flag Mounting Rings with Snap Carabiners for 0.75-1.02 Inch Diamete Flagpole (Φ1, Silver) : Patio, Lawn & Garden

Better? Who knows, same prices basically, and "stainless"! Can't be worse.

They COULD just be getting out of the rain. I DID see an article that they don't like water! Might be an owner over-reaction!
Don't get me wrong - I like/enjoy reading about most electric vehicles, but I truly dislike Tesla.
