Every time I see this thread I think "How in the hell could a thread be that old? We haven't even had the internet for what 15 years?"

It's kind of like the radio ad where they say "We taught 120 6 year olds to read" and I think "What the hell does a 126 year old illiterate need to read anyway?"

That's all I have to say and I'll see myself out now since I'm only 2/3rds of the way towards qualifying for this thread.

    Evening all:
Looks like another HEVA HOVA :spy: came to visit! GIT!!!:infantry:
Just saw a car I like!
A Lamborghini Veneno :drool::drool:. But at $4,000,000.00, it will have to wait awhile, but any donations would be appreciated!

PERMIT; I think we need one: BUT, I know nothing!!! ;)
Spent all day pulling nails, and burning the evidence. Tomorrow the bags go out for garbage. The last thing I will put out is the toilet and sink. That would draw attention if put out with too much other stuff.

I knew "SOMEONE" would want proof  !

I would have some smart ass remark but I know you do most of the work around your house yourself. ;)

Its forerunner the BBS was in use during the early 70's. Before most of the young Tacoma owners were born. So in reality the Internet is old hat to us seniors.

Well, what a 5 day stretch this has been.

On Friday evening, Lynn was feeling good after her gallbladder removal on Thursday. We went to bed at 10. She awoke at 1 in excruciating pain. Took a Vicodin...with no relief. Fought the pain and nausea for several hours and we called the Dr. He told her to try another Vicodin and if no relief in an hour or so, to go to the ER.

After 20 minutes Lynn looked at me and I knew it was time to go. She has a high pain tolerance and was sweating profusely and flushed from the agony. Took her to the ER and the first doc and nurse told her it was just normal gas pains from the surgery. I told them no, Lynn is in real pain, not discomfort.

They hit her with a pain killer...it did nothing. The second dropped the pain down to a 5 on a 10 point scale. CAT scan revealed nothing. They finally called the surgeon who removed her gallbladder who told them to run a test to determine if she has a bile leak.

Bingo. She's leaking bile directly from her pancreas into her stomach cavity. As it turns out, it happens in 1 out of 200 gallbladder removals. She gets admitted to the hospital on Saturday afternoon.

She spends Saurday and Sunday fighting the pain with meds - unable to eat or drink since if causes the bile to secrete and burn. On Monday she is scheduled to go in for a procedure where they snake a hose down the throat, through the stomach, duodenum and to the pancreas to find the leak and put in a temporary stent to seal it while the body heals. Minutes before she goes in we find out that the doctor doing the procedure is not the one we know - never met him. 1.5 hours later he comes out and tells me he was unable to set the stent - it was a tough location and he only does 3 of these a week. We need someone who does 10 a day to see her. WTF?

While she is in recovery I start making calls to some folks I know who can make things happen. Lynn struggles in recovery - the procedure was painful, she feels like she was run over by a truck and...it was unsucessful so she still has excruciating pain...now her pancreas is inflamed, too.

We get her transferred to a regional specialty hospital that night - an ambulance is sent up and takes her the 80 miles back to the hospital.

The next morning she is scared, in pain and deflated mentally. We meet with the gastro team there and they assure her they will not repeat the same process and are 99.9% sure she will not feel the same way afterwards. They take her into the procedure unit at 1 for prep and into the procedure at 2. By 2:45 the doctor is sitting in the waiting room talking to me with a smile on his face. Lynn is fine, the stent is in place.

I get into see Lynn in recovery and she is smiling and sitting up - pain is totally gone. That was yesterday. This morning they cleared her for solid foods and she at some breakfast and lunch - no issues at all.

Thankfully, she is now home sleeping in our bed. She will have to have the stent removed in 3 weeks but it will be done locally by the doctor who put it in place.

What a total nightmare this was. But, I can tell you that Lynn ranks up there with the bravest people I've known. Despite the pain and fear of the procedure, she kept up her spirits and fought it.
