Morning all. Tough night sleeping for me - many, many memories stirred with the coverage on the 10th anniversary of 9-11.

My Facebook status for the day reads: ‎10 years ago, I was in my office in the Pentagon when the plane hit our section. I cheated death twice that day..many colleagues were not as fortunate. I saw many acts of courage from people who could have easily chosen to escape to the safety of the A Ring and parking lot..but who chose to remain to assist others. Please keep in your thoughts and prayers the thousands who perished that day, the many others who were injured, and the families left behind to deal with the tragedy. Honor them all.

I plan on spending a quiet day here after going to church.

I was interviewed by our local paper - I was reluctant because I felt the focus should be on those who were lost and the families they left behind. If you are interested, here is the full story - and the lead one puts it all into perspective.

Welcome Rob. I turned 62 in August myself.

Welcome Gary. So will you let the grandson drive the Tacoma. ;)

My wife and I babysat two boys, ages 2 and 5, for our sons godparents last night. Nice to hear all the musicall instruments being played with. They were actually well behaved and fun to have in the house.

Off to church this morning then we have a church crabfeast this afternoon. Gonna be a nice day.

Doing a lot better Ken. I had the best nights sleep since the accident. Still has pain if I move the leg wrong but the movement is coming back to the leg.

I may use the cane again today since I will have some walking to do at church today.

Good morning all.....and thanks for the welcome!
I can tell this is a great group.

I've already shed some tears this morning watching the memorials on TV.
It will be a quiet and reflective day.
My cousin was scheduled to fly on FLIGHT 93 but her work changed the day before and needless to say, her life was saved.

hi mark and all others. you were in the pentagon when attacked! glad you survived. by chance, did you ever meet a gen. reggie hernandes? he's from my home town. my great grandfather(john craig) was a col., 147 pa.vol., he was involved in every major battle of the civil war. also had a general in the family(thomas craig), he was on george washingtons staff. the other side of the family came from your neck of the woods. DR.silas b. robinson, first physician in slocom hollow,(now scranton),married maria slocum.their daughter(franses)married ritner griffin. have 2 vol. set of books here on the history of the slocoms(various spellings)published 1907. wonder if the lackawana historical society has these. i'm sure they do. enough of this, hope I didn't bore you,but our family tree is interesting.

That's some family history!!! I have relatives that fought in the Revolutionary War and Civil War but none with the pedigree that you have. :)

I don't remember meeting GEN Hernandez - but you never know!!

looks like your family has also been in this country for a long time. ever hear of the "society of the cincinnati" I believe it was only open to the first born male of revolutionary war officers, and first male of their decendants. it was set up to help the less fortunate veterans of that war. believe it or not,it's still in existance to this day.gen.craig is represented by someone in the relation, but I don't know who. aha! just brought it up on the computer, should have done that first. these things are amazing. got to know about this because someone inquired about it,and wanted to represent the gen.
