    Good morning all. :pccoffee:

I hate when a holiday falls in the middle of the week like this year. Feels like this week had 2 Mondays....Next week will be more of the same.

    Good Morning Porch Folks :hattip:.
The doctor at the hospital told me to make a follow -up appointment with my PCP (havent seen him in 3 years). Wife called and made the appt. because she knew I wouldn't. I thought there goes half a day at his office. It was a shocker . In and out in 45 minutes with a clean bill of health . Of course he did say he wanted to see me when we get back from our winter vacation...I said no problem I'll meet you at the Warwick Tavern at 5 :D. It's all good

Have a great day Folks and be safe :fistbump:

Good morning from the farm! 53* now with a hi of 75* later.
We've been here since Christmas afternoon. Getting a lot of things done inside and out. Mounted two boot scrubbers to the mini-decks front and back. Built some Ikea shelf units for utility room. Sorting out "stuff".

Today, mounting two Ikea countertops, fixing legs on a sofa, delivering a drop leaf table to neighbors across the road. Taking a bunch of stuff to the dump.

Then this evening, sitting under a big Live Oak tree enjoying a fire. We will NEVER run out of firewood, thanks to our wicked hurricane season this year. Praying for a hurricane-less 2025.

    Have a wonderful December 27th!

Nurse just checked on my dad. He's gone. He would have been 93 in January. Sorry to bum the topic out. I'm numb right now, maybe I shouldn't be posting. Don't know.

    Good morning everyone

Things are moving along with cleaning up and planning on downsizing.

I sold the Honda CRV. It's a 2021 EX-L; Carvana picked it up for $25,800, with super low miles (less than 8,000 after four years). When I bought it in February 2021, I got a screaming deal with a rebate and 0% financing, which worked out. I like the truck for truck stuff, and I plan to be out in Sacramento before I know it. There are still lots of neat back roads (4x4) to explore, and I'm camping while I can. The truck is up to 36,000 miles after four years, most miles being long road trips to California and Colorado.

I went to drop off one cable box (two TV receivers, only to watch TV in the living room) and drop off the SEC network. Cable is $280 (!!!!) a month. My wife had to watch every Alabama game and liked her local news. I want basic cable (computer and streaming Netflix/prime). I'm not on the account, so I can not make changes. The clerk was a jerk, into some weird power game, but said they could only make changes if I brought in a death certificate/power of Atty. So "I'm not on this account at all? Nothing, correct? Yes sir. Oh, fine, I'll cancel credit cards and let them figure it out. It should be two months before they kill cable for nonpayment. Meanwhile, get every account changed to another email address.

My daughter dropped off some neat Pyrex glass containers with snap lids. I don't eat that much, but I like fresh fruit and salads, so this lets me make a bigger batch and store things. Lids are more manageable to snap off and on, and arthritis in my thumbs sucks as I can not pinch and peel, but this lets me press with my palm and pop open using my fingers.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. It's pretty alright to post as we get it, and it's never easy to lose a loved one.

Post a story about the good times you had together. My wife had a wicked sense of humor, so I told the kids we would have to watch "Weekend at Bernie's" one night in her honor.

I finally got around to watching Shrinking on Apple TV. She has signed up for it; it will disappear once I cancel all her credit cards (waiting on death certificates). Harrison Ford's character had Parkinson's in the show, and he has done an excellent job of getting little things down. I've been living with Parkinson's for years, but my wife didn't like watching shows dealing with it as it hit too close to home.

Oh, death certificates. I ordered 25. I may not have ordered enough for each credit bureau, credit card, bank, and house title. What I overlooked is that she is listed as a spouse on my 401K, stock, etc. Each company needs one. It sounds like you send it in, and they send it back, but oh my. It's not simple.
