Sorry to read this. Picked up an Ice Therapy machine from my sister yesterday. I can tell you that binge watching the old TV show House is not a good idea if you are going to have surgery. In the show if something can go wrong it will.

Good morning. A cool 15 degrees here this morning. We had a welcomed visit with my cousin yesterday then met our son for dinner ar a restaurant we go to often. The soup and salad I had was actually filling and good for my health.

Yesterday after morning pickle and shower, I drilled the cases of my game cameras and mounted them on some various cedar cut off boards I had saved, caulk and stainless screws. I got sick of the supplied cheap straps, now I can mount them wherever, however. (Bungees, straps, screws, nails, clamps, etc). Clear day and sun felt warm.

Today is mentor day. I bought an electric kettle to donate for our hot choco, tea, coffee corner in the meeting room.

I got some pork ribs out of the freezer. Need to uncover the smoker if I'm feeling ambitious, otherwise oven or slow cooker (yeah I know). Wife made homemade Japanese curry last night. So good!!

Morning Tom, it is amazing how much better my back feels with the warm weather. So I guess it is melting the pain away .

    Good morning all...

Pala Mesa, nice area. Lived in Fallbrook for a few years, pretty close to town...worked at a couple of golf clubs in the area.

Went through the Rice Fire in 2007...had a close friend who lost her condo at Pala Mesa Resort.

She evac'd to OC and called me early the next morning to ask if I could drive by her property to see its condition...before the CHP and Sheriff closed off the roads.

I got up around 3:30am and drove up from Escondido...I knew something was up when I drove to her street and there were little stacks of personal belongings out on the common lawn areas...TV's, clothes, lamps, etc. Firefighters had pulled what they could from a few of the affected units. Darlene's widescreen TV and a small pile of clothers, a computer, were all stacked in a little pile on the grass.

From the front her condo looked okay...at first...but then I noticed the front door was open...and you could see the golf course through it behind her condo. The fire had jumped across the fairway and burned out the whole condo, but left the front and about 3/4 of the roof structure...reminded me of some of the WWII photos you would see of bombed out buildings with just the front windows and roof still standing.

Making that phone call was a rough one.

She lost almost everything...but eventually recovered and rebuilt...but I will never forget those memories. The acrid smell of smoke and melted insulation hung in the air everywhere, like a campfire but your eyes told you different.

Then driving out and seeing the nearby mobile home park that was completely razed...photos of the Palisades fire are reminiscent.

Non smoky mornings are good ones for sure. :)

    Housekeeping, lots of memories.

I have memories of old concerts. 1973 Led Zepplin $6.00; Niel Young $4.50. I piled into a friend's VW Bug for a road trip. It was a full-day drive down, a concert, a drive home (500 miles), getting home, taking a shower, and off to school/work.

How on earth did I forget about YES? Who I knew, but Yes (Abbot and Castello would have had a field day).

Hope it goes well and the recovery is quick. The other kidney still hanging in there...not getting worse?

Back in September 2024 I had surgery to remove large stones in my left kidney and place a stent in that kidney . The surgery scheduled for next week is for kidney stone removal on my Right kidney and remove the stent in my Left kidney and place a new stent in my Right Kidney

Since having my left kidney operated on the stent that was placed in that kidney caused irritation which caused bleeding

I marked "like" as my way of sending you my best. Take care of yourself.

I finally have time to take care of myself, but I never realized I would be so busy dealing with house decluttering and little things to get it sold. The realtor had a checklist of little things; most were trim and paint. The shed (18' x 24') needs a new door to be painted. Well house, 6' x 8', could use new trim and paint. Under $1000 in material (fancy door with built-in blind as shed could easily have a wall installed (garden side) and leave a "she shed" (18'x18'), so putting in a windowed door helps with the appeal. Changing room/yoga studio. I'll do the door and let people imagine. Million little things, and I want to get out of here (but at the best price).
