I'm near the top of a hill and not horribly close to any rivers or streams. Right around the corner from my house on the main road there was debris from a tree having fallen over that must have blocked the road at least partially. I could see sections that had obviously been cut with a chainsaw and there was some stuff in one lane from that.

Speaking of winter. I don’t mind it at all. Worked over forty years in a semi truck. What I do in winter now pales in comparison. Doesn’t matter to me how cold it gets.

When I moved into this house 10 years ago after a divorce I changed the panel right away. I had a 100amp panel and I upgraded that to a 200amp panel. I put the 100 amp in the garage. I checked with the electric company to make sure the wire and meter coming into the house would handle it. They said it would and to get a licensed electrician to do the work. So I pulled the meter and did it myself, all it cost me was for the panel and some breakers. I have 700 feet of wire pulled in my basement wood shop with two 220v outlets. Then I bought some no2 copper and ran 100 amp service in the garage with 220v for the welder and compressor. Yes I have a powered up man cave. I did it all just for the cost of materials. This is the third house I've done this in, I'm not moving again!

Mechanicsburg is a nice area. I worked part time at Appalachian Harley Davidson for several years. Always enjoyed Jubilee Day.

Had a great day on the water today, covered 10 miles. Not to shabby for two old guys. Saw lots of shore birds and Pelicans diving from above for fish. Plenty of seals and of course otters.

Fil ( who is showing his age) bought a brand new Elantra. He complained about getting in an out of it. Lower than a typical suv

it must feel good driving again....other than the exit...

I miss standard transmissions. I tow a travel trailer with our Taco so I went automatic. Both grown daughters are the only one of their friends that can drive a stick. We insisted that their first cars be sticks. They are proud of being able to drive a stick.

    Hi Gang,
I finished my latest article for the monthly Baja Bound Bulletin, about one of the historic sites we visited (using a 4x4 Tundra) on May 11. It should be published in a month or less, for June.
Independent of the article, I made a webpage for the location, if interested about a little desert spring on El Camino Real, the mission road from Loreto to San Diego and beyond: https://vivabaja.com/pozo-san-francisquito/
All my previous Baja Bound articles are linked here, by category: https://vivabaja.com/baja-travel-adventures/
On the Baja Bound site, listed by date written newest back to the first (the most recent ones not yet added): https://www.bajabound.com/bajaadventures/bajatravel/
Hey, what else am I to do while retired? LOL

My dad had a choice when he graduated diesel mechanic school. San Diego or New England. My mother pleaded to stay nearer the family ( on both sides). So, the four seasons for me.
