    Were you the pilot?

We had an annual Adventure Riders BMW rally in Death Valley when I was an Admin and Mod on the forum and almost all of us attending went through the Panamint Valley to get there. Two guys who arrived before me had the same experience.

I assume the jets were from Edwards AFB

    Morning all:

I've already replaced multiple shut off valves with ball valves when they needed replacement, probably will go that route if I need to replace this one.

Got a small section left to weed whack with a blade, then two small access areas left to mow, then I'm caught up on that for now, only to need to do it all over again in a month or so, and it's almost time to mow the yard again!

So far I have found 5 ticks on me, twice I found 2 of them when getting asparagus from my wild asparagus plant that's on the property, 1 after string trimming, only 1 had barely penetrated skin and came off easily, the other 4 were just crawling around on me. I'm sure there will be more, maybe should start treating my outside work clothing with permethrin.

Ticks, yuck. Our house is one house from the open space at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains. We get ticks on our dogs, and at times ourselves, at least once a week from our back yard because deer, coyotes and even Bobcats pass through our back yard.

My fully grown youngest daughter already has had Lime Disease. She is fine.

Good to hear that your daughter is OK after having Lyme disease I've been lucky so far after having multiple ticks buried in me.:fingerscrossed:

UPDATE---Make that 6 ticks, just found one crawling on my arm while putting on my work clothing to go do the string trimming and mowing! :annoyed:

I had Lyme also, but I was lucky and caught it in its first stage before it goes dormant and we where able to treat it effectively. That was about 10 years or more ago, it never came back thankfully. If you don't catch it in its first stage and it goes dormant and then comes back its permanent and can be quite debilitating. I actually had the health department call me after the diagnosis because it is so rare in Michigan.

You won’t see the Lyme tick. Usually just the bite. Puny little pricks

Here are the two dogs and one of the 4 cats I'm watching while the kids are away

Charlie pre surgery and happier and a shot of him getting to be in the back yard for the first time post surgery

    IMG_0378.jpg

And the massively food driven, Retriever, Poppy. In her younger days her super power was sleeping, any place, and time.

And the 22 yr old cat, Gus, in my hospice care. Here in his prime the former stud mouser wants to play my Strat with me

As must be apparent by my many posts, I'm bored, stuck in the house with 6 pets

Yea, they say they are only about the size of poppy seeds. There are different types of ticks, and I think they are all capable of carrying some type of disease.
