I found a cylindrical slide rule in my dad's effects. I don't think he ever actually used it, although he used a conventional slide rule quite a bit when I was a tad. I used a slide rule briefly in high school.

Slide rule? That was information in/information out. Once they told us how to use them we never saw them again...

    Crap!

A woman dropping off her young child at my next door neighbors house stopped in front of my driveway to drop off and backed into my truck as she was leaving.

Totally brain dead! She was looking at her backup camera, BUT SHE LEFT HER REAR HATCH OPEN! No camera view that way. I was in the street at the time only 2' or so from her car on the side and could have been hit. She accelerated so quickly being only 7 or 8' from my truck when she started backing up. My youngest daughter was also on the street as we were putting things in my daughter's car and was yelling, STOP! STOP! STOP! The women didn't.

Turn it in to your insurance company and get the check to fix it... and then use a heat gun on it. If you're lucky it will pop out and may only have some barely noticeable paint damage, easily repaired by some touch-up.

Ugh; my Tacoma got hit last year by a neighbor while it was innocently parked in its assigned parking place in front of our townhouse. Eight thousand dollars later, the damage had been repaired; this kind of stuff makes me crazy. Over the last three years my wife has been rear-ended twice while sitting at a stop light, and then my parked Tacoma got hit; so many incidents jacked up our insurance rates nearly triple, and yet not one of them was our fault!

That's what happens when insurance is required to cover everyone on the road. We should only be covering our own vehicles and no one else. No-fault insurance premiums are much lower.

    Evening all:

That stinks Radd, sorry to see your truck damaged, BUT:
this really stinks, no way should rates increase when you aren't at fault! :(

In my experience, no-fault insurance is more expensive; but I haven't lived in a no-fault state in many years.

While I agree, the insurance agents say, "Because of so many losses, even though you weren't at fault, it shows you live in a high risk area."

    Insurance...

When I went from two motorcycles to one my insurance went up! They had a multiple motorcycle rate. My guess is that the stats show riders with multiple bikes had less accidents.....

Ouch, that will be a hit to the budget if you need a new system. 14 years ago we replaced our HVAC system for a cost of $6500. The old system was over 20 years old. Saw savings of about $100 a month every month. New systems are a lot like cars in that parts are only available for 10 years.

Hope the airbag did not deploy.

Good morning. Yesterday was great. Back to garage work today.
