No rain here. Temps in the low to mid 90’s. Cool in the mornings , cools off in the evenings. No, zero humidity. Perhaps the best weather in the nation. Problem is its the most expensive state in the union. Oh well I ain’t going anywhere. Happy almost 4th.

Cleaned off the driveway yesterday. Everything washes down from the road, then wife complains can't see the edges. Weeds inundate everything. Even concrete. Still sore this morning, but I can see the driveway again. :)
Installed a small water feature in a seating area yesterday. Had to break down and read the instructions, but it's working. Success is sweet!

Good morning. New HVAC system is being installed on the 14th. Made the trip to the beach with no problems. WAZE roused me off route 50 through Annapolis then back on 50 to avoid a few miles if stop and go traffic but other than that no problems.

This was the first time I have driven in 5 weeks. The brace came off yesterday and now I am not supposed to move my knee past 90°, normal seating position. Kneecaps are an interesting part of our bodies.

Went over to Berlin MD for dinner abd music then variety hopped 2 bars. I was tired when we came back to my sisters beach home.

Today my son is going to take down a small tree for my sister. Tonight is still up in the air.

sounds like me 9 months out of the year here in the PNW. We are being blessed with an early summer, just hope it lasts. Generally our summer doesn’t start until July 5.

Haven't been here in a few weeks, trying to catch up. Old age is slowing me down. BTW, is there an "over 70" thread around here?

Well done, both your training and her apparent ability. When I taught my teenage daughters to shoot about ten years ago, it took them about an hour to get better than I was and I'd been shooting for over 50 years. Showing targets doesn't mean much if you don't post the shooting distance, though. I would assume 15-20 yards max since it is handgun shooting, but you tell me

Actually, Palomar was outsized in 1975 by the Russian BTA-6 telescope, which was 6 meters (240 inches). It was outsized in 1990 by the Keck scope. I hope you tell everyone that sees you with her that she's your granddaughter, or they're gonna think you're a lech. She's gorgeous.

We got a jump on the Equinox by a couple of weeks here in the NC foothills. Temps in the mid-90's and monsoon-like thunderstorms. I got a couple that only lasted about 3 hours total, but dumped 1-1/2 inches of rain. Now, at first of July, the temps with heat index are pushing 105 and still getting some hellacious T-storms in the late afternoons. I'm still mowing 3 times every two weeks to keep up with the grass. Usually by this time, I've dropped to once a week or even once every two weeks as the rain amounts drop. The temp last night at midnight was still 85.

The Soviet telescope may have had a bigger mirror, but it was a propaganda project more than a useful telescope (as I recall reading)... It was unable to be pointed anywhere, or some kind of issue,,, yes? Thanks for the complement on my granddaughter... she is 14, and growing so fast!

One of my fondest childhood memories was going to the dump, (ya, that's what it was called back then). At about 5 yrs old I would sit on my father's lap and steer the truck as we drove the long winding dirt road to the dump area.

I love the dump. One of my best childhood memories too. It's kind of odd how many people in my community use the foothills to dump their trash when the landfill is free. We aren't supposed to scavenge, but we do. One time we were crossing the scales to come out and we told the guy that it was a shame to see a bunch of perfectly good railroad ties sitting there to be buried. He told us he wouldn't look if we wanted to load them up. So we turned around and put nine ties in the trailer. Good ones. Around here they'd be worth $150 bucks or more. I found a brand new 1/2 horse electric motor I could use if one of mine burn out, with nothing wrong except a busted switch. It's criminal to see what they bury in the ground.

What a sweet memory going to the dumps as a kid with my dad in our Ford pickup truck. Always came home with some cool stuff I found. Plus on the way home I got to ride in the back of the truck.
