Good morning. Off to the MD vehicle emissions station for my son's truck.

Dinner last night was Wings and Things.

I finished what I hope is the penultimate job of my life yesterday, but it took a 14 hour day to wrap everything up; even still, my access to certain resources got cut off a few hours before I finished doin' what needed doin'. I sent my now former boss, a guy I really liked working with, the details of the things I couldn't finish because of the loss of those resources and he offered to finish them for me on Monday. Then I will make a final appearance next month, free of charge, when my final project gets deployed to my client; I'll attend the meeting in "look over the shoulder mode" to guide my replacement on how to do the deployment correctly some evening after the client's contact center closes for the night. Some of you will ask why I would offer to do that for a company I am less than fond of; simple answer, I've worked with that client for over four years now, they are a famous not for profit cancer research hospital; I donate to them every year and I will consider this just another donation.

Last night my wife said it best, "You got out of jail!" :)

    Morning all:
Forecast looking about the same here, and then rain predicted for the first 4 days of the week after! :annoyed:

Best of luck with the new job Dale, hopefully the grass is greener on the other side of the fence!

Thanks, it will be; I've partnered with Google for nearly 8 years now on various projects, I've worked from their offices in numerous occasions, I've attended their trade shows, and have met most of the folks on the team I'll be joining at one time or another. I've always envied their work culture, the whimsical environment in the various offices, how well they collaborate with each other, and when combined with their somewhat unique compensation package, I may not want to retire until well after my previously planned retirement of 73.

Anyone ever pulled a hamstring? That POP was intense. I thought I'd be down and disabled, but after that initial surprise I realized I could move. Still, it's sore and any amount of time in the car makes it painful. Hopefully it heals quickly...

Ugh, I pulled one many years ago; hamstrings, at least in my case, take longer to heal than any other pulled muscle I've ever had. Massage and heat seems to work well to get them to heal faster.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Yes I have but I was in my 20's. Even then healing took quite some time. At our age I would bet it will be 4 to 6 months till it is not noticeable.

yup, played sports most of my life, pulling a hammy was no fun. I could walk fairly quickly but anything more than that was painful. "Pulled" and torn body parts take longer to completly heal that parts that break.

keep it wrapped and take it easy and it will heal.

Having said that, you do realize you're asking for medical advice on a truck forum. Conversely, It would be like asking how to best lift my Tacoma on the Mayo Clinic forum.. Anyway, best of luck to you.

Speaking of repairs on our Tacomas... Mine has not needed many during its 140,000 mile life (a 2010 Off Road 4x4)... but this week, there was oil dripping on my driveway. Toyotas don't do that! LOL, well it wasn't engine oil, but gear oil.. dripping from my front-left half axle, where it goes into the front differential.
In a couple hours, I am taking it to Tacoma World's 'Speed Freek' (Jason) to examine.

Yes I have. I must've been 60 - ish when it happened. Pulled the left butt hammy. It was sorta painful for 2-4 days, then became a low grade discomfort for about 3 weeks. I studied Tae-Kwon-Do for 4 years so the stretching exercises really helped.
Some heat after the swelling reduces and gentle movements afterward.

Hamstrings and Groin pulls will keep you a little sidelined
