60+ year old thread.

"Silent but deadly" as we used to say as we surprised our friends during sleepovers. Or hovering over an unsuspecting victim whose sleeping. So I'm told.

I may have to cancel this after the last few posts. Seriously thinking we've been invaded by folks that don't qualify for the thread. The last week or so seems to have gathered a bunch of Homer Simpsons.

Musical ability is quite genetic but even then what happened to me?

My brother is an awesome musician. My wife has a fantastic voice and can play several instruments. Our kids all played in bands. My mom played violin, dad trumpet. Hey my Italian grandfather played a banjo in a speakeasy in Cincinnati OH.

Me? Relegated to clearing the porch

 

As my dad would say: Me? I play a hell of a radio!

 

The music teacher in high school chased me all over the school trying to get me into the choir and the musical productions because my brother, 3 years ahead, was the star in every musical and soloist in the school concerts.

Me, football and wrestling, no performing arts.

Not long after high school I picked up guitar and had a short lived band then Bluegrass jams. I worked hard at it, I was not a natural but I enjoyed it for decades until arthritis in my finger joints ended it.
