Morning all....great to be home. Got in last night at 9:30 pm and went right to bed. Up this morning at 4:30 am...damn jet lag. Had a great vacation and had no problems. We were walking the same street in Istanbul on Monday where they had the riots:eek:. We never saw any of the problems in our travels. I'll post some pictures when I get them downloaded(wife must of taken a trillion or so) damn digital cameras:rolleyes:. Now it's back to the daily grind.

Hi Rat.... doing a little SCUBA, then went to Rota to see my son and his family. Looks like I'll be in Georgia for a while. I can feel the humidity coming off of this Georgia clay already. I sure miss the Gulf of Mexico!

How about you? Ready for summer?

Cheif, you talking about Rota Spain?
One of my buddys was stationed there on a sub tender. I might have gone there, but I put Holy Loch Scotland on my "dream sheet", he put Rota Spain. We both got our duty stations as requested.
Him being full blooded Portugese may have had something to do with his choice. He had alot of relation in Portugal, and his dad had been a former strongman, (like Charles Atlas), and former heavyweight champion of Portugal.
[Really showing age here; anyone remember "Charles Atlas"?] That's well before Lou and Arnold. :)

Got to see Rocky Marciano beat Archie Moore In NYC on Sept 21 1955.We were on our way to England for 3 years. The place was so smokey almost could not see the ring. My Dad talked about it the rest of his life as it was the greatest fight he had ever seen. It was Rocky's last fight...Rocky was world champ at the time and Archie put him on the mat early,,,The whole place was standing for 9 rounds till Rocky put Archie on the mat for the count in round 9....I was 6 years old at the time but man was that a fight...

Good to be home. Everything was good including the hot air ballooning:D in Cappadocia. The place looks like Bedrock where the Flintstones lived. Will post more pics when they are all down loaded.

So much to see here in Merica. I think next year may be a Pacific Coast Highway trip, a trip to the Grand Canyon, or back to Yellowstone. Only time and what the son and wife want will tell. ;)

Three years ago we flew into Bozeman and rented a car. Got a free upgrade to a Caddy. Made the trip quite enjoyable considering we put close to 2K miles on the Caddy.

You will like the Wild Bill Cody Museum. The firearms are most impressive.

The travel through the Badlands and Black Hills was very scenic and worthwhile. Try to take in Mt. Rushmore if you can.
