I do that with the big garden spiders. The ones that have a web track down the center of their webs. Also preying mantis, and if I could I'd feed dragon flies.

Our immediate backyard is usually a dragonfly metropolis. A bit short this year but still a decent showing. Not sure if they snatch flies or not generated by the chicken runs. But the water from the growing areas produces mosquitoes which they eat. All the T posts and garden stakes makes them happy to hunt from. Its mucho cool to feed a wild mantis a cricket by hand. Still wondering where our crows went to. Puzzling.
