My girlfriend's daughter, 24 years old now, lost her best friend in a car accident during their senior year in high school. She has a tattoo on her forearm featuring a sunflower, the friend's favorite flower, along with a clock stopped at the time of death. Her friend's ashes are mixed in with the black ink. I'm not much of a tattoo person but I will admit I think it's a nice way to car her friend's memory with her.

To each their own. I try to remind myself of that. All the memorials that have become so popular nowadays just seems morbid to me. Not that the people don't matter, or that they didn't bring value to our experience... but the psychological energy expense is tremendous keeping everyone alive long past their expiration date. Let my last gift to the people I love be comfort in eventual forgetfulness...

So the guy likes his car and doesn't want some jackass dinging it up with their doors. When my tacoma was new I parked it like that at work because of all the p.o.s. vehicles that where there. I usually park as far away from everyone as I can. Most people don't like to walk that far. I'd rather have someone park like that than right next to me so I can't even get my damn door open and get my fat ass out. Nobody cares if you have a nice vehicle, just throw the door open, especially if it's kids.

I used to park my show car out in the north forty where nobody parked, but then people would just go out where they would never park so they could park right next to the car. But oddly... if I took two spaces they would park within the lines so they were farther away. Worked for me. I appreciate the interest they showed but damn... don't park next to the car.
But if you're gonna take two spaces... do it at the back of the lot and don't be a d**k.

In NorCal that will get your car keyed. Out lots are usually really full though so parking is a premium.

I park my Tacoma on a slight angle in between the lines and most people think I can't drive so they don't park next to me.
Doesn't always work but it is a way to try to keep people away.

-so the car was in the #2 and #3 slots in the closest row. When I came out (Hobby lobby; left wifey inside with the progesterone fest) she was a 40 something looking house wife. I too parked like that at one time but not up front. If you want to park like that then you go past the halfway point and further.

    Evening all:

Just read where there was a helicopter crash with multiple fatalities not too far from where I live, seems like almost every day there is a small plane or a helicopter crash somewhere in the US.
