I thought yesterday was Sunday, i do not mind that type of senior moment.

    Good morning. Welcome @lane47

@US Marine good morning. Back to normal living. The beach wore me out and I hardly did anything.

Back to consistency with walking and meals. Striving to get on 10,000+ steps a day. More salads, chicken, and fish. Less breads and pasta. I need to increase water intake.

    Continue prayers for Chuck.

Good morning, all. My wife and I just returned from 6 week trip to England & Wales. Celebrating our 45th anniversary. We were married at the Bibleway Church for Better Living on the Avenue of Fashion (Livernois) in Detroit. Whew, that's a mouthful.

A friend found the storefront church for us that was available on short notice. The preacher, Reverend Ransom, said he had never had a couple divorce where he had presided over their marriage.

Looking forward to another 45 years of adventure with my best friend ever!

Saw a performance of the "Motown Memoirs" in the Crypt of a church near Trafalgar Square in London. What a show!

Rear end finished finally, all new leaf springs, shocks and brakes. Refresh diff oil. the keeper springs on the brake shoes were he most difficult thing to do. At 65 my hand strength is not what it once was. Of course the one wheel facing the sun as the only one left. The temperature was in the high 80’s as I worked on it! F Me!

today I will start the front end. I’m doing upper control arms, tomorrow I’ll do all the tie rods springs and lower control arm. I’ll finish with a brake Refresh as the pads are just a little bit over half rotors are well within spec. Saving a ton of money doing it all myself but paying with some pain. I’ll tell you that the TV time in the evening sure feels nice!

How many miles? Doing it all because it needs it? Or for something to do?

    Afternoon all:

I hear you Ivan, rotated the 4 tires one day and then removed them the next day to apply anti seize to the rims, no pain, but the whole body was stiff for 3 days afterwards!

:annoyed:, had to make another trip to Wally World this morning. I went to put the deer cart in the truck and one of the cart tires was flat, pumped it up and heard air escaping through the valve stem hole, disassembled the tire and found a crack in the tube right at the base of the valve stem, so needed to get a new tube.

Ya know, when I was working in the parts business I was told that rubber parts were manufactured to have an eight year life span. I don't know of anyone that changes their belts and hoses at eight years. (And I'm not suggesting it) But your post got me thinking about it. I've run a belt that I was advised to change after 15 thousand miles... for an additional 80 thousand miles... and only replaced because I was selling the vehicle. I think most people run belts and hoses forever, until they fail.

I had a guy come in one day after inheriting a car that had been parked for over twenty years. The car was a '62 Dodge with a slant six, and one of the hoses was ballooning. I told the guy that he might want to get all new hoses, but he was cheap and he ended up coming in several days for a different hose every time. I always wondered what became of that car. It was very low miles, pristine, and was a stripped model that was ugly as sin... but was cool because it was such an ugly, stripped car that was such a time capsule.

Which is easiest for Border crossing? Calexico East, Calexico West or Andrade near Yuma?

240,000 the ride went downhill after the summer trekking for good fishing holes. The sierra Nevada's have so many good trails that are decent roads but require 4WD, if you are smart. ( pulled out too many 2WD in my time) . I started to notice an increase in rebound time and a sloshy ride on some fire roads.Hard to explain but a weird side to side movement that wasn’t there before. The most obvious was when I moved my son the trailer really came close to bottoming out the rear leaves. I moved him 2 years ago and it seems like it was equal weight but a real difference in ride. I figured stock springs, shocks and stock bushes would cure it. I will be adding some air helper springs when I’m done with the refresh. The crazy part is I have always driven Jeeps, one good summer of fire roads and the squeaking started and never left for good no matter what I tried. My Tacoma has never once squeaked.

I had to replace the front upper and lower control arms 19 months ago. The shop needed a combination of saw and torch to remove them. I did learn on 2nd gen 4 bangers this is a common problem. Glad I let my shop do the work. The new control arms have grease fittings. I will say the truck rides decent.

Good morning. Starting guitar lessons back up today. I believe we are going to start the replacenent pricess for the the blinds on the kitchen atrium door today. A full day and I am cooking up a few pork steaks for dinner.
