Thanks John for the welcome... I've spent the last few nights reading the post in this thread... Nice folks and good info too.

Morning Coffee (with fiber,) and watching the news... Next, the weather channel.

Can we push nap time up an hour? Jerry Springer comes on @ 10:00 am.

And for beer... it should be a dark bitter microbrew over 7%. I only drink one or two. Hot day pool side can be almost anything.

Thanks guys and please save me some social security money. I can almost taste it. :)

    Evening all:
    Hey Tom; welcome!
There is something nice about being able to get some of the money back that was paid into SS. Hope you receive many checks!!!!

Was just mowing, and thinking about "SOMEONE" having FUN on his new zero turn! :p It started getting really dark, and no sooner than I put the garden tractor away it started pouring.
    Didn't get the lawn done!

Thanks Mark. I totally agree. Seems like I can't recover anymore. With age creeping on and work pressure rising exponentially, it's a very, very long way to retire. I can't make it to 65. If I can get to 62 and get the house paid off I'll semi retire and slow down and try to get another job with insurance. The pounding my body and mind takes on every day is something I don't wish on anyone.

    nice!!

Didn't get mine done either... got dark and the girls wanted a walk.

    Good luck.

Definitely find a job with less stress. It's a killer.

Starting to rain up here, too, Carl. I'll probably be giving the ZTR its maiden grass-cutting voyage on Saturday!!

Mike - Sue is right. That stress is a killer!! I turn 62 at the end of my 5 year contract...that will really be a decision point for me.

Carl - you might enjoy this article. One of our star football players came out of Emmaus - transferred to WVU this past spring. A nice story of how hard work on the field and in the classroom pays off.

:woot: good luck with the new toy.

I stress a lot over stuff, too much. I'm done being the boss, um chief baby sitter, so no more. I could get a different job, but the one I have now lets me take time off to go visit the grandkids. Granted it doesn't pay real well, but being able to take the time to go visit them, makes the job perfect. Usually low stess, set hours.... I'll keep it.

    evening Fred.

Bottom line-must be able to afford to take pension. I've been on pension since 49 and love it. If I would have had to get a job to survive I would have, but saw no need to.
Of course I also didn't count on the interest rates on CD's and money market rates being almost nothing.
At least I don't have to pay the tax on the money I'm not making!

Your situation was the same as the one I am in Fred. I will turn 66 in June 2014 but I'm bailing January 2014. Boss is a pain in my ass with do this do that, when I haven't even finished this:eek:. When I tell him he says let it sit and we'll get back to it later because I need that done. He doesn't know how to manage and he is making my life miserable. I haven't even told him I'm going yet...Looking toward retirement.:D
