I have seen a Coyote here in Suburbia as well, ran through my back yard. Too big to be a fox and did not look like a fox either.

Glad our cat is an indoor cat. I love our little furball.

    Evening all:
Glad to see the captain back!
Count to 10, don't want to lose you again!

Did anyone try to pm Mark? Find it strange he stopped posting. I know he's busy, and probably has better things to do, but it seemed he liked shooting the bull with us. Hope nothing happened to him.

    Hey Folks!

I'm still here - just have been swamped at work and with family issues. Last weekend was homecoming and I was at events all day Friday until 10PM, took my mom to have her hair done on Saturday morning and then right to our football game, then to a post-game party and dinner. Sunday was our Church harvest festival and I worked from 9:30 until 6 or so. I am so looking forward t a 3 day weekend coming up.

Lynn's dad went into the hospital about a month ago with congestive heart failure. He can no longer transition from or to his wheel chair so he is now in rehab/care. Lynn's mom still holds out hope he will get stronger and come home but I can't see that happening. He still has to be lifted from bed, sleeps through his therapy most days and generally doesn't even know where he is. We hate to see him like this - sure sucks to get old.

Oh, wait, we all know that already.

Otherwise, I pretty much have nothing else going on. Sti enjoying the new zero turn mower but cutting season is about over up here. I stacked a cord of firewood last Thursday getting ready for the cold weather.

I hope everyone is doing well!!!

Good to see you Mark. Hope you get some down time and get to do something fun.

Sorry to hear about Lynn's dad, though :(

Hi Mark, I always thought that the older you get the easier life is...boy was I wrong. Seems there isn't enough hours in a day anymore. Prayers going out for Lynn's pop. Hope things work out for you and the family.

Hi Cap, how's the wing doing???

Morning All...TGIF it's Hump Day. Told the boss on Monday I was retiring on Jan.3, 2014( going then so I can get paid for New Years and get 3 weeks vacation pay.:)). Not real happy and now he is trying to tempt me to stay...would you consider part time, couple of days a week, how about you sit at a desk and do technical support over the phone. I don't even answer him. I am done. Time for a break:D.

    morning all:
Glad to hear from Mark. I thought maby the Pres. recruited him back to service for some covert mission! :D Sorry to hear about the FIL, OHHH-the golden years. :(
Good you guys mentioned the SS checks. I didn't think of that, having gone to direct deposit. Since medicare is deducted from the check I would assume it was issued, or we would have a "BILL" for it already!

You won't regret it Ken! Find a good crowd to hang out with at a local coffee shop. That's a good way to start the day! Believe me, there's tons of things you can find to do to keep yourself occupied.

Take care of the arm capt.. should be good to go after awhile.
I'm starting to understand the phrase "a body in motion tends to stay in motion; a body at rest tends to stay at rest"
I think I'm at the second part of that!

I hope the wing heals up and you can get back in the air! It has to be frustrating to be away from something you love like this.

The only covert stuff I'm doing any more is to sneak on to MyPay and see if I got my retirement check. :D I've heard conflicting statements about Army retirement - one group says it will continue and the other says it will stop after October if the shutdown is not ended. At this point, it would just be an inconvenience since Lynn and I are both working.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts for my FIL. He seems to be fading pretty fast at this point, but you never know how long he will hang on. Unfortunately, he's having some dementia now, too. No short term memory, not aware of where he is or why he is there, etc. It's tough to see him like this - I know it tears Lynn up. As much as she hates the thought of losing him, it's also very tough for her to see him with no real quality of life. Ugh.

Hopefully, we'll all be back to talking good things soon!!

    Mark:
You and Lynn hang in there. I went through the same thing with my dad a few years back. It is not easy but you have to remind yourself he is not in control of this process. He needs your love more now than ever before.

You are so right, Tom! I went to see him tonight - he is not making any progress in therapy so that will probably stop after Friday. That will pretty much end any chance of coming home since he can not get into or out of a bed or wheelchair without a lift. It sucks to see him like this.

On a slightly lighter note, I got these in the mail today. They are fine quality pens that look like bullets - and the wood is turned from Russian Mosin Nagant M91/30 rifle stocks. I had some extras and gave them to the guy who makes them to see how they would look. He sent me the two pens as payment for the stocks. Sweet!!
