Evening all:
Neat story about the dog. A buddy of mine has a Doberman with a crippled leg from birth. He carries it out in front of him, and gets around on three legs. They were going to put him down, but my buddy took him. He ended up with a great dog, and the dog has a good home. That is one lucky dog!

 

I still have a bad left arm.. from a try to grab the cat that I did not see... You walk them ..They can not walk you..Use the belly tie on them till they walk with you. Too old to get pulled down..

 

They make a leash like that. Gotta do what works.

 

I use a 10 ft one one time around the belly, They have 6 or 7 feet to get off in the grass....... This

Larry Burrows' Vietnam Photos Still Haunt Us 47 Years Later

In October of 1966, the Vietnam War had already been raging for nearly 11 years. Thousands of troops were still fighting, and in their midst a courageous photographer risked and ultimately lost his life documenting the horrors of one of the longest wars in U.S. history. As LIFE magazine wrote of Larry Burrows in a 1971 issue:

He had been through so much, always coming out magically unscathed, that a myth of invulnerability grew up about him. Friends came to believe he was protected by some invisible armor. But I don’t think he believed that himself. Whenever he went in harm’s way he knew, precisely, what the dangers were and how vulnerable he was.​

Burrows had died that same year when his helicopter was shot down over Laos, together with three other photographers. Their tragic deaths are a harrowing reminder of the acute danger war correspondents face in doing their jobs, and of the endless dangers that armed forces and civilians face in the midst of violence.
For those left at home, there is little that conveys the horrors of war as thoroughly as photographs such as Burrows'.

Hi Jim, thanks for the advice. Been slowing down and telling him no more often...won't do the desk though, it is a mess as it is and he probably would thank me for cleaning it off...but he has been much nicer and easier going then in the past. 2 MORE MONTHS...

The photographers that covered the wars that we have been involved in covered them to try and give the public a glimpse of what our troops were going through and how tragic it was for our troops. Now I saw on the news that the prime minister of Iraq was in Washington asking for American troops to be sent back to Iraq to help with the rise of insurgents there. I hope Obama doesn't send any of our troops over. It is a no win situation over there and we don't need anymore American blood spilled on Iraq soil. God bless our Service personnel and keep them safe.

Ken I am right there with you. In all of law enforcement the common truth is a Policeman never wins in a domestic dispute.

 

Ken & Tom, I agree. 23 yrs is too long...we can't change the way they think, or fix their problems. No more American sons and daughters should be sacrificed trying.
