Sorry for your loss, Jim! He sounds like he lived life as he wanted - nothing to regret there.

We're in the "Locally 12-18" zone for the snowfall. Who knows what we'll actually get but I'm betting that I'll be doing some shoveling and plowing this weekend and Monday. Have to admit that I have about had enough for this year.

My latest rifle project is about complete - just waiting for a Russian POSP scope and AK mount to come in the mail - so I may have to revert to some reloading to keep me busy here in the house.

For the rest of you in the snow's path, stay dry and warm. For the rest of you, don't feel bad for us - we choose to live here so we can't complain. [IMG]

Well, the NWS in Binghamton NY just issued an updated prediction map - now showing that the bulk of the snow will go to our south. We're now in a 2 to 4" zone.

But, since the storm is still off the west coast it can shift either way. Whatever happens, happens.

    Morning all:
Looks like I am still in the "bulls eye for the storm"! :(

Saw the article on the "stash" of gold coins. There is an interesting thread about it on another forum. A lot of posts say they should have just kept their mouths shut and just sold one coin here and there. Plenty of private collectors out there.

    The surcharge-------Saw that coming!
Somebody gotta pay; I thought they would just raise the prices.
What's the old saying; They're nickel dimeing us to death.
    :bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket:
Pick your bucket; they all seem to be empty! :D

There's no doubt that governments will take their "share" of everything valuable that any citizen manages to work for, inherit, or find. I mean let's face it, how else can they afford to fill the pig trough that politicians feed from?

On another note, ENOUGH WITH THE SNOW ALREADY! Can someone please stop shaking the F%$#&# ball!

 Mornin' Ken. That's what I call a flexible schedule. Sounds like a good way to keep from getting bored. And you make money instead of spending it.
During my terminal leave when I retired from active duty I started doing all the little projects around the house that I'd always thought about but never found time to do. When the bills from Home Depot and Lowes showed up at the end of the month, my wife looked at me and said, "old man you need to go back to work, I don't think we can afford you being bored around the house full time." I started my civil service job about a week and a half later. ;)

    Morning all:
Looks like they shifted the brunt of the storm to the South of us now. Calling for 1-3" here now. Much better than the 8-12"+ they were originally calling for.

Good morning senior citizens. We have so much snow now, when the weather warms up next week as forecast, the quick melt of all this sh%$t will not be pretty. We had snow like this about four years ago and the farmer's field I had to walk across to get back into where I bow hunt for turkey was a quagmire of mud. By the time I reached my turkey blind, my boots must have had 40 lbs of mud stuck to them. Great exercise for the legs, but a real PITA. Oh well, it beats the hell out of a toothache.

    I hope so.

Very cold again this week coming.
    Quiet day today.

When I walked freshly plowed fields after a heavy rain, looking for arrowheads, I experienced that many times. Yea, those boots sure do get heavy! Worst though was when we hunted a swamp for ducks, maby a foot of water and then mud. We would be in up to our crotch and every step became a battle. We shot a lot of ducks there, so it was worth the effort.
I loves to hunt them turkeys! They can be sneaky suckers though, and it all comes down to: are you smarter than the turkey! :D

Condolences. It must have been an honor just to know one of the Pearl Navy survivors. I've read that quite a few, especially the Arizona survivors request burial in Pearl Harbor (ashes I suspect). Arizona survivors can actually have their remains interred in the sunken Arizona (which I think is still on the list of active duty U.S. Navy ships.

Up here in the North Land, on America's Northern Boarder, it was -2 degrees Friday morning, 44 degrees yesterday, 15 degrees today. We still get snow here and there, but most of it has gone south off us by 100 miles or so. I can't wait until I can putter in the yard. May 1st is my official retirement date!
