So far we have had 129" of snow spread out through the Winter. I work within walking distance of Lake Erie. The ice is at least a foot thick on the main lake. Thicker in Presque Isle Bay. 129" and that's not even a record snow year!

    Afternoon all:
Capt., sorry to hear about the passing of your band pal.

Interesting ongoing mystery about the plane. Seems there are only two possibilities; it crashed somewhere, or it is intact in some remote place for future use.
If it were found on the ground I would love to see China take care of business. I don't think they would play games with those involved.
Bet there wouldn't be any trials either!!!!!

Looks like they are now going to put more equipment on the planes to track them. Funny how they always seem to lock the door after the horse is out of the barn.
Same with 911, they didn't have secure cockpit doors>too expensive, but now they have them. Heck, Israel had them and never had a plane hijacked.
911 created a lot of jobs, and I mean A LOT!! The barn door was left open there too! Just saying!!!!!!!
Interesting that Indonesia won't allow us to search; could be time for a low level SR-71 flight over the area! What the F--- was that? Bet that would get their attention! :D

That is a very different part of the world. Going to make it very difficult to solve this one. IMO

    Good Morning Ken.

Wow, inoperable brain tumor and loses his wife while fighting it. That is so tragic and sad.

Hmmm...probably it. Wonder if they'll be able to piece together the rest of the puzzle.

Hi Rob. Fortunately the tumor was removed and he is doing good...except for the chemo:(...a real loss for him losing his wife like that. They said the strain of flu going around can be deadly so please be careful:)

Chemo is a tough road ... hope he holds up under the stress of losing her so unexpectedly. Does he have family (kids / grandkids) nearby?

Heard that about the current flu strain. This past October I got the flu vaccine for the first time since I retired from active duty in 2009 ... strange coincidence.

    Morning all:
Reading posts about those in their late 50's that are passing. I had mentioned, in earlier posts, about the seemingly high amount of the guys at Beth. Steel that were passing before they hit 60. I would have to believe that a lot of it had to do with stress from the plant closing.
Unfortunate that the gentleman mentioned has his own health problem, and then has to go through the agony of losing his wife. Can only hope for the best for him.

You guys are reminding me about the flu; I need to get more sauerkraut!!:D

The blower motor on the coal stove stopped working yesterday; another project I don't need! At least the stove radiates enough heat without it, and it's not nearly as cold as it was.

    YUP! MABY
