good morning all. mother nature turned the a/c on thank you mn.

tire smoking pics won't happen the 1964 C 2's already weak stock IRS rear end set up wouldn't last past more then maybe 4 or 5 burn outs. with out something rare and costly breaking again. another hurt with this much motor is the car still has drum brakes, not enough stop power.

the 502 is only a temp motor while I send the 327 out to be rebuilt/blue printed, the piston knock it had, got pretty bad coming home from the track sunday from the show ,and loosing the correct numbers block is not a option. my spare 327/350 hp motor sits up at my step bro's place on cape cod, 6 hour drive each way, so to drive the car for the summer I was left with only one I have the needed parts in stock option, use the warmed over marine 502 for a while.

right now my plans are retro rod. rebuild the 327 into a wilder 327, flat top pistons, z28 302 gen 2 ram air camshaft, big valve double hump fi heads. a nice edelbrock intake with a 770 cfm holley. wildwood disc brakes at all 4 corners . a drivable street car

down the line should the auction prices of vets go back up.( watched a restored 63 spilt window 340 hp 327 go on mecum last week, for $82.000) with a few days of work have it back to correct parts and numbers.

    you have several times moqqe.
my vet I just want to enjoy this summer for a change. just cruise in's and shows hood down to hide the motor. for 4 years it sat on jack stands missed driving it, driving it more, the piston knock became way more like a loud rod knock hence a fast choice to do a temp motor swap. save the block, rebuild it to better but to where it can go very easy back to stock, number 3 hole is scored big time and might need to go to .060 over to clean up. esp since it is already .030 from another build down in texas when it belonged to my brother in law.
the cobra when finished will be the fun car. right now that is at the body shop with the body off being painted, metallic black white stripe ,should be done by spring

    Morning all:
Here's something to think about Capt.
When I put a 427 into my buddies vette, he had to modify the cross member so it would fit. I don't remember if it was because the front of the oil pan hit, or something else, but I think it was the oil pan. When they started putting factory BB's in them the cross member was made to fit either a SB or a BB, but they didn't have the BB vette in 64.
Either you, or the people you are around, would know that for sure.
I am certainly no expert on them, but I know that he had to do that in order to put the motor in.

OH! And that was a 67 SB, that "SHOULD" have had the unifit cross member . ??????? :notsure:
