    Welcome William.

The BNSF and UP are probably two of the best run railroads in the US. Both were looking to the future 15 to 20 years ago and planned for the rail services needed today.

On a positive note the inspector came out yeaterday and blessed the shed. I raked and put down grass seed yesterday and it sprinkled last night. The karma is flowing strong on my projects. ;)

BNSF and UP are the 2 largest railroads lol I don't know if I would exactly say best ran. I don't want to give all the secrets away that might cost my job. Most people don't realize how important the railroads are to this country or even the world.

    LOL

Both railroads spent the time and money on upgrading track and other infrastructure so when the demand and need for more freight hauling started about 10 years ago both were in a position to reap the profits.

One only has to look at the trucking industry and our highways to see that long haul trucking is really hurting.

I don't haul much freight but an engineer and I were talking the other day and we were discussing how many trucks it would take to haul the coal we were hauling that day. I work in the powder river district and mainly run coal trains here. The subdivision I work is or was said to be the heaviest tonnage subdivision in the world.

It just wouldn't be right for the thread to go an entire day without a post.
    Greetings!
    No weather reports?

Ugly day in the land of Lincoln, 20 degrees colder than yesterday, overcast, windy and rain is predicted, but the good news is that I'm around to enjoy the ugly weather. :)

    LOL

I was weeding this morning till the rain came. Now I am cleaning inside and designing a combination Trash container storage shed with a 2 or 3 foot firewood storage on the side. If it works out I may try to sell them in the city where I live.

Week from hell for us. Events Monday through Wednesday night for both Lynn and me - plus normal work. Co-Chaired a luncheon on Monday, had a Board of Trustees meeting tonight. Also preparing for a union arbitration with a former faculty member, dismissed 6 students from the college for misbehavior.....are we having fun yet?

Ken, all of them were athletes who were arrested in two different events. We take a very strict line regarding incidents that either place another person in danger or that has a negative impact on the reputation of the college in the community. It is the #1 item in our Student Code of Conduct and warns that violation is punishable up to dismissal. We have an appeals board that will adjudicate their cases.

Mark, the weekend is only 2 days away. Hang in there.

Ken, the pumpkin patch photos are great. Looks like the little ones had a great time.

Whelp it looks like I signed up to help my sons school custodian paint and do minor repairs. He is very busy and can use some help.

Hi Mark, getting arrested is more than misbehaving...what is it with the athletes these days.. seems like they are always in some kind of trouble whether pro or college...do they feel they are untouchable:confused:...they should be dismissed especially since they know about the Student Code of Conduct. and didn't abide by it!!! Try to have a good rest of the week...TGIF will be here soon enough:D Ken
