Naps are good:woot:...took one yesterday afternoon myself:D

Temps are dropping for this coming week:eek:...time to put the shorts away and get the long pants out:rolleyes:...51* out there now ...

Some days you just need to Veg out and recharge the bodies battery...changing weather put's me into what I call my "bear" mode cause all I want to do is eat and when winter hits I want to stay in the house and nap all day:eek:....(kinda like hibernating)...

Hope you kick it soon Rob, nothing worse than being sick:eek:...bed rest and plenty of fluids always help:D...

Thanks, I think I beat it. Took the time to sleep versus trying to work through it.

Take it easy and get well quickly.

Need to do 5 or 6 little projects around the home today and one semi tough project.

I need to remove a cabinet that I know is held up by 3 screws and 3 finishing nails. The question is what else is holding it up that I have not discovered yet.

Should I just drive the finishing nails through the cabinet frame or work to pull them out?

    Thanks Tom.
If you have the right size punch, I think I'd drive them thru trying to leave enough to grab with pliers after you pull the cabinet off the wall.

I saw a you tube vid that pulled them out with a small bar. I have one just like the one in the vid. I might cut the bottom of the cabinet off with a table saw and remount the cabinet if there is enough excess trim on the bottom. I know for sure the cabinet will be hung in the garage if I cannot remount. ;)

Thanks Susan. Seeing how I'm pretty sure I picked it up at work, sent a guy home Tuesday night, I figured it best to end that potential cycle. ;)

Pulled the cabinet off the wall. I punched the nails through the wood and removed the screws. Twas only the 2 nails and 2 screws holding it to the wall.

Spackled up the holes and will paint tomorrow. I doubt that the cabinet will fit back in once the new refrigerator is set up.

Another cabinet for the garage. Eventually I will have all the cabinets in the garage with a new floor in the garage.

Hey guys...Have an 08/ 4x4 w 80900! It spends 6 months a year on the beach in Baja, Mex. Used a lot in sandy canyons and beach. I fresh water rinse after beach outings/maintain 3k oil/filter changes. Have any suggestions on special maintenance items. I want this great truck to last a long time...maybe longer-lol Me 74 going for the big 75 Mar next year!

Welcome to the thread BAJAJAC. I would at least change the drivetrain fluids every 30K. My little 2.7L recommends that maintenance. For me it is the manual transmission and the rear differential fluids.

You probably need to replace the brake fluid and power steering fluid as well.

Thanks for the info. I was an Off road race dude in the Baja 1000 & 500 for many years but race damage to my spine limits what I can handle under the car so I will find a garage that can handle these items. We ride our Taco out into the desert to watch all of the Of Road stuff that comes near our place. I have mucho experience with VW's as that was the engine that dominates the sport. I still have a VW sand rail at the house in Baja.

Here is a useless bit of nonsense for you, speaking of VW sand rails. I worked with a SGT in Vietnam that once traded a portable field shower to some Marines for a Jeep based sand rail set up. This was in 1970. He went home on emergency leave for 30 days due to a death in the family. While he was gone a SSGT stole the engine out of the dune buggy to modify his jeep. When my SGT got back he picked up 5 gal of aviation gas drained his gas tank and put the ave gas in the tank. Jeep ran like a bat of of hell till the SSGT arrived at the telephone exchange, where he worked. Turned it off and it never started again. I was told that some parts in the engine had fused to other parts.

Which proves that even in a combat zone GI's can still have fun.

Hi Jac, welcome to the any discussion thread...great folks in here and we have proven numerous times that Tacoma's are not just for kids:D...welcome. Another item to watch are the grease fittings and u-joints. Sand likes to get into everything... (also check the CV boots regularly for tears.)

:rofl::rofl:...did the SSGT ever figure that one out:confused:

 Morning Cool Old Dudes and Susan.

    Welcome Jac!

Charlie, I gotta say, your old body may be paying the price now, but you, my friend, have truly lived. I can't imagine what it was like to party with Steve McQueen and James Garner. That's just too damn cool. :D

Fred, not that I disagree in any way, but you had to see that coming. I guess that doesn't make it any less sickening though. :(

    Have a great day all.

    Afternoon all!
I'm trying to catch up on all the posts here. I've been fairly busy. I did a 200 target shoot Saturday up in Thurmont, then followed up with a 50 target shoot Sunday at North Carroll. Talk about the old guy needing some naps, that was me.
The UPS man delivered my wheels late Friday. So, I got up this am early, so I could get over to Butler's Tire to get my new wheels put on. They're pretty sweet for an old guy.

Charlie, I have only one suggestion and that is to schedule all the maintenance you have to have done and get it done in rapid succession. I gave up the year of 2012 to have all mine done- 4 surgeries, and 2 months of chemo- once I was all done I could focus on recuperating and feeling better. It worked perfectly, and I never felt better, it just seems tough while your going thru it, but it was worth it.

Sorry about the fridge, but nice to see you got a new GE for a nice discount to boot. On a side note, we just got rid of my Mom's Westinghouse fridge that they bot in 1948 when I was born. It ran perfectly so we gave it to one of her neighbors.

X3 or 4 or 5, what ever it's up to by now.

Nice to see you're feeling better now. Everyone hates having the flu...especially up north where its cold. I usually make chicken motzo ball soup if I feeling fever. It works every time.

Welcome Bajajac! I'm not much of a mechanic, but I sure the others will offer some good advice. An oil change, and maybe on a good day, I could do some brake pads, that about my limit.
