She's an amazing dog. My first upland bird dog. Always had Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. Still have one, but he's almost ten.

Did some shows when we weren't looking for birds.

    Evening all:
    Nice dogs Don!
, on the two birds! What make is the OU?

Hang in there Tom, I think we've all been there/done that when it comes to planning out something. Funny though; after it's all well thought out and done, that's when we realize we should have done it different! :D

I like the part about "US" being the ones with the money! If you can pay your bills, and have $1.00 left over, you're rich. Seems like a lot of people are over their head in debt and rob Peter to pay Paul on a month to month basis. And guess what; it seems like they are being encouraged to do it! The rope is being supplied for them to hang themselves!

Don, You went to BC for a couple of ducks? That's either dedication, or ya got away from the wife at home!

SF Bay area... Born in the City, raised in Oakland, home is Livermore now. You were Special Boats? I was in a different Navy: Seabees were there first.

Gun is a Beretta 686 Onyx 20 gauge.

Two pheasant from Hastings Island, CA. In the delta near Rio Vista.

boats, I, too, was born in SF. Now live in Oakland. In between, was Pacific Grove, where my parents grew up, then Sacramento, which is primarily where I grew up, so to speak.

Impulse, she can walk in, and turn around in that kennel. It's just fine. No way I want a stinking delta water splashed dog in my brand new truck.

Don, I looked up Hastings Island on Google Maps and came up with BC. I see now, by Rio Vista. I spent summers on Bethel Island as a kid, good memories.

Boats was the one who asked about the gun.

I didn't want to say that about your dog, glad you did!

    :woot:

You have to read the "made in" labels on absolutely everything. So many names we grew up with, and through our adult lives with, have been sold out in the name of higher profits. DeWalt, Gerber, Craftsman ... I'd list more but now I'm frustrated pissed-off mad and extremely sad. :annoyed: :frusty: :(

Seriously, corporate greed and consumerism are running us into the ground.

Sorry, long boring night shift ... I'm gonna get another cup of coffee.

    Morning all.

So here's one you can add to that list:

Pabst Blue Ribbon is now owned by the Ruskies.
Colt 45 and Old Milwaukee (All Same) went along for the ride too.

:( I'm getting old before my time. Seriously frustrates the hell out of me. Mainly because I don't see how we ever get it back. It's feels like watching a runaway train and just knowing it's going to be one big terrible wreck eventually.

I don't know what else to say.

Concerns me as well. Seems like a lot of old American product companies are selling out and the owners taking the money and running. The best thing to do is support our American brands and hope they do not sell out.

There are no guarantees in life.

    On a side note.
Just saw this--It costs about $62,000 per hr. to fly the F-22, and that doesn't include the ordinance they drop!

    Greed.
I like watching shark tank on Friday nights for the entrepreneurs. But I hate some want to take their ideas to China for manufacturing.
We can't go further on this soon to be train wreck.
    Only then will things change.

Eventually, Chinese workers will begin to want more. No matter how hard their government tries to shield them from the 'net', they will find out. Higher wages will be the goal. It'll take time, though.

Easy to do with beer, at least around these parts. There's a biggish brewery not too far away where they do batches for Yuengling, Coors, and others, plus there are dozens of craft outfits in a 60 mile radius. I think the furthest my beer comes to get to me is from Boston!
Even then their generic labor costs will be lower. We need to face up to the fact that our manufacturing base will never be what it once was. Then we need to stop buying a bunch of crap we really don't need, save a few dollars up, and invest in craftsman made, quality products. If we demand, for example, a liquid cooled lawn mower with grease fittings and an engine that lasts 25 years and can be rebuilt, and we are willing to pay for it, it will get made. We need to create the market.
