Welcome home Charlie! Glad to hear you got some relief. REALLY glad to hear that the pain is due to the healing process and not due to more stuff going wrong - you've had enough!

Hope the healing process speeds up a bit more for you Charlie.

Glad to hear you say the sailors did the right thing by running away. So many nimrods dissing them on the internet.

I'd about forgotten this...first two years in England we supplemented the radiator electric system with fireplace (setup to heat water to be circulated from fireplace versus electrical element); we could get coal there cheaper than wood. We kept a coal base that stayed hot "forever" and would add wood on top. Dirtier yes, but way more efficient. This was when we lived off-base, before base housing became available for us.

We're all gas here too for the overall efficiency rating of the house; sometimes I miss a real wood fire though. :(

    x2 and QFT

And nimrods is exactly what the ones dissing them are ... OMG, don't even let me get into it with one

    Hang in there Charlie.

    Evening all
    Your one tuff cookie charlie.
    One step at a time.
I know you can do it.

    So many topics.

We had a piggy back coal/wood furnace. Would run coal or wood and if the fire went out the oil would take over.
No power, no problem. Open the zone valves and start a fire and let it work by convection.

I try not to watch anything about the wars or conflicts. My life is in enough turmoil without adding to it. It makes me sick to see us pissing tons of money for other countries when so much is needed here. Nuff said.

Suppose to have flurries tonight. We will see.....

The picture thread is hoot. Best one it a long time.
Glad we got some pics with boobies for miss Susan to choose.
    Hehehehehe

    Long day and I'm beat.
The porch looks real good right now.

    That is awesome!

Reminds me of my RAF Mildenhall, UK days back about 1996. Had only known my Chief (as much a Dad to me as my own) about a year then. I had new modular consoles installed in the op center with all the latest ergonomic and high tech computer features of the time. Chief was dual hatted as both the squadron Chief Enlisted Manager and Chief of Maintenance. Shortly after the new consoles were installed, I walk into the op center and see BDU clad legs and combat boots sticking out from under one of the consoles; I knelt to see what was going on and it's my Chief looking around with a flashlight. I asked "What's up Chief?" To which he replied, " Just seeing how all this stuff works." Always was a maintenance (mechanic) guy first; love that man. :)

    Evening Susan.

July 1994 - October 2001. 4 yrs with 627th Air Mobility Squadron and 3 yrs with 100th Wing Op Ctr. We liked England and Europe in general.

Commander of 627th gave me indefinite DEROS and was trying to get me to take an assignment on AMC staff back at Scott when the Wing Op Ctr Supt offered me a job and worked an IPCOT with PCA to USAFE for me. It was a great 7 years. :)

Morning all :D...Glad you got some relief from pain Charlie. Prayers for your partners SIL for his safe return.
Here's a little ditty for the day.

A senior citizen said to his eighty-year old buddy:
'So I hear you're getting married?'
    'Yep!'
    'Do I know her?'
    'Nope!'
'This woman, is she good looking?'
    'Not really.'
    'Is she a good cook?'
'Naw, she can't cook too well.'
'Does she have lots of money?'
'Nope! Poor as a church mouse.'
'Well, then, is she good in bed?'
    'I don't know.'
'Why in the world do you want to marry her then?'
    'Because she can still drive!'

:washing: 2 loads done yesterday, folded and put away:D...
TGIF everyone. We got a little snow mixed with rain last night  hope this isn't the start of our winter here:rolleyes:...have a good one all.
