    Evening all:
Didn't see a tail, but at 9:00 pm there was one standing alongside the road about 80 yds. up from my house!

[I'm thinking more and more that one should eat right, move around enough to keep the blood circulating and call it quits at the first major malfunction. It seems like once the doctors start working on you, life becomes a series of medical experiments with little good derived from them.[/QUOTE]

    X2---It sure seems that way!

Thanks for the update Paul. Hopefully all can be straightened out for Charlie. It sure stinks when things start piling up, and I'm sure the stress factor will come into play at some point. As said before; hang in there Capt!

paulieb - you have the Capt's address so we can send him a get well card? If you don't want to post it in the open, please PM us, so we can at least attempt to cheer him up. If he'll be in the hospital a few days, that address or his home address....

    Morning Ken

It was ... different ... Son's and wife's work schedules complicated getting everyone together Thanksgiving day; best part of Thursday for me was lots of time with the grandkids. We stayed home together playing games, making popcorn, and watching movies, while the others either worked or chased the crazy Thursday evening sales. I took everyone out to eat at a nice local restaurant Friday evening. It turned out very well and everyone had a nice time. It seemed the easiest thing to do without requiring additional work for anyone. Not exactly traditional, but it was enjoyable and relaxing.

Looks like you had a bit of a challenging drive, but glad you had a good, relaxing time once you got there.

Good morning one and all. Only two things to report today. First, we are having a heat wave. It is all the way up to 25*. Secondly, it is darn dark out yet. Stay safe, stay warm.

I do not know what to say about Charlie. Even thinking about it scares the crapola out of me. I hope he catches a break soon as this last streak of luck he has been having is worse than bad.

Doing pretty well. Busy as hell, though. Lots going on at the college with getting ready to start renovations on the buildings we purchased last summer, fund-raising, prepping for our ten year re-accreditation visit in March, and continued work on expanding our programs in the petroleum and natural gas areas. Had an opportunity to testify in front of Congress (can't remember if I've been here since then) and just had an article highlighting our program un US News and World Report - pretty good for a small 2 year college.

Still taking care of my mom and Lynn's mom. Lots of doctor appointments, shopping trips, etc keep Lynn and me jumping, not to mention house repairs, taking out trash.......

We did take a week to head off to Antigua for our 40th wedding anniversary two weeks ago. It was our third trip (spent our 25th and 26th anniversaries at the same place). It's a quiet all-inclusive with a beautiful secluded beach, 3 restaurants, 2 bars - no kids, no casinos...just peace and quiet, food, swimming in the ocean laying on the beach and adult beverages. You step off your porch onto sand and walk 30 yards and you're in the surf. Low temp at night was 78 and daytime high was 85. We really needed the break.

I think I mentioned I'd picked up an O/U shotgun - my memory is toasted at this point. Here it is - a Browning Citori 725 Sporting Clays with 30" barrels.

How are things with you? Did I see a new litter of pups?

You are just too busy 6. The Mil IS 100 NEXT SUMMER. She still lives in her house alone. We are doing shift work now so my Lynnie & I are over there 3 days a week.
We have pups now that are 2 weeks old so the busy time for them is just starting. They are all sold. So that is a +:)

Very nice on the o/u. Im still on the hunt for the right o/u Weatherby 20 Ga. bird gun . Going to miss a lot of bird hunting this year with things like they are but oh well there is always next year..

That's a fine gesture on Charlie's part. This time of year there is plenty of need to go around too. Food banks, orphan/foster kids, disease research, helping folks in Ferguson rebuild their businesses, and many more. Plenty of ways to make a difference with a few dollars.

Morning Dave, I agree that it is a fine gesture on Charlie's part. There is an awful lot of people that need help this time of year and every little bit helps. The community I live in has food drives to help out the local food banks, collect gifts for the kids with Big Brothers and Big Sisters in our area, and I always donate to Toys For Tots. All good causes. Have a good day Dave.

Charlie should be either in surgery or prepped for surgery by now. God Speed my friend and prayers for a successful surgery.

Very nice shotgun 6. Glad ya'll got away for your 40th; that location sounds perfect! Belated Happy Anniversary, 40 years

Jim, how long do ya'll keep the pups with Mom, 8 weeks? Hope you manage to sneak in a Quail Dynasty trip or two.

Yep, Charlie's a class act
... my thoughts and prayers are with him and the doctors working on him.

Daym Jim you must be doing a lot of things right if all the pups are sold at 2 weeks old.

I doubt if the businesses will ever come back to Ferguson. Promises made by the St. Louis County Police and Missouri police were not kept. Instead of stepping up to protect the businesses as promised in August the police just contained the rioters and let them loot and burn every thing down.

The really sad part of all this is the residents that are left there will need to go to other places to shop and obtain prescription drugs. In 10 to 15 years once all of the property disputes are settled the property will be sold at 10 cents on the dollar to developers that will build luxury housing and force the remaining residents to move away. Although the area is close to the St. Louis airport it is so convenient to the interstates and downtown St. Louis.
