    Damn you're old. :p

Good morning COD's&D's. Drive to NJ wasn't as bad as I was anticipating; the nor'easter was just a rain event about 15 miles east of my place. We had a coating of ice on everything at the house, and the roads were a wee bit slushy for the first 10 miles, but after that it was just wet. :rain:

I'm hoping that Paul's next update brings us some kind of news about Charlie.

    Evening all:
Looks like I may have to hunt Jersey again! It's criminal what they did to the deer herd here in PA.
Congrats. to you and John on getting your buck.
    Keep updating on the Capt.

Paul - you guys are amazing friends and neighbors. When you do finally get a chance to talk with the family, please let them know that they are all - especially Charlie - in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Paul, congratulations on the hunting success. I'm doing some guesswork but it sounds as though Charlie might not be at home yet and the family is going to be with him. They sure are a loyal bunch.

Good morning one and all! No news and no excitement on this end. I am going to put up a few decorations this morning. Nothing extreme, just enough to look like Christmas is coming. I imagine I will drag home a tree soon.

    Afternoon all:
Just got done climbing a mountain. On the way up I heard something turn a rock, and shortly later saw a deer on the other side of a hollow going into some thick stuff. Couldn't tell what it was, and it would have been a pretty long shot, but at least I saw another one. Running out of time!!!

I'd be happy for them to just give me a lift to the top of that mountain! Guess I can't complain, I can still hike up and down the mountains around here; just have to go a little slower! :p

Darn; Paul is making me hungry. Sure miss the deer sausage when I don't get one.

Thanks Paul. Sounds like he was in it pretty deep for a while. That would explain the family staying close. I remember how we closed ranks around my dad when he was in ICU a few years ago. The thought that this may be the last time you see him is with you every waking moment, and most of the sleeping moments too. It's a heavy heavy load, and it ages everyone. My heart goes out to Charlie and all of those holding vigil next to him.

Congrats on the bambi dinner Paul! Carl, come out to my house; you won't even have to hunt, just hit one with your truck as it stands in the road. Confounded beasts munch my yard to pieces.

Speaking of munching my yard to pieces, I just came in from helping the plumbers dig up my front yard. We have blockages, and broken pumps, and just everything. They'll be back Monday to tear some more yard up and dig a hole in my pocketbook. Merry Christmas I guess!

    ... Or something

    Thanks Paulie.

Wow, that meal sounds delicious.

:woot: for being a Cool Old Huntin' Dude! Hang in there Carl, Good Luck.

Dave, Thanks for putting the situation at Charlie's in perspective, hadn't thought about in that light, and honestly I've been feeling a little down about it ... I needed that. Thoughts and prayers are with Him and all the family and friends.

Merry Christmas for the plumbers and their families. ;) We became homeowners for the first time when we moved here 13 yrs ago ... It's always something.

BTW all ... Hunting partner Randy drew a nuisance moose hunt tag for 2 mile corridor either side of hwy north of town next week. Moose-vehicle accidents are up, a lot of which is due to the lack of snowfall making them difficult to see during the hours of darkness. So in between working nights, we'll be hunting during the 6-7 hrs of daylight.

    Hope all are well. :)

Thanks for the update Paul, it's nice to hear something from time to time. We'll be keeping Charlie and his family in our prayers for awhile.

That bear sounds like a cagey character. I sure he'll show up after the hunting season. I'd like to see you take him out before Charlie get home, but sounds like that may not happen.

Speaking of deer in the neighborhood. Here's a few that met their demise in our neighborhood. They were trying to cross I70. They tried to jump over the guard rail on the east bound over pass, but the west bound over pass is about 20 yards away. Obviously, they didn't make it, and fell to their death 50 feet below.
