Thanks Mark, we only had 23 family and friends this year. plenty of leftovers.
The Holidays would not be the same without "The Christmas Story" :D

    TMI...

Hi Susan, How was your Christmas? Did the girls do good in the gift department. My DIL made up little Doggie treat bags for her dog, my sons two dogs and my daughters dog. They all had a good Christmas:D.

Be safe my friend. Enjoy the trip.

Good Morning and Happy Boxing Day.

Godspeed for a safe journey Tom.

Santa brought new squeaker toys for all the pups present here yesterday; quite the racket for a bit with four squeaking at once.

I received two presents I was not expecting, a dogtag with pic of each grand kid on either side--already hung it from the rearview mirror in my truck :D; and a Cabelas meat mixer to add to our game processing equipment--we're very well equipped in that department now. I'm very thankful and happy for both. :)

 for Charlie's family and friends.

    I miss ya' Cap'n. :(

 Morning Paul. Yep, got about an inch Tuesday morning, 3-4 inches Christmas day, and about another inch yesterday. Still way behind the curve of where we should be IMHO, but at least we're getting some. Hope we get some dumps for the second half of Winter; that may sound odd, but it makes a difference with regards to fire danger in Spring/Summer as well as low water levels in the rivers hurting Salmon runs--delicate balance between too little and too much. ;)

"Normal" ... K, if that's your story.

Here's an amusing thread ... As a Tech you might find it irritating. :notsure:

Yes it is irritating. That's why I don't always reply.

BTW: normality is how you perceive it.

Outside stuff put away. Tree stripped. Break time.. Just the fireplace, throw the tree out, and vacuume left.

 Kinda what I thought ... I was only a tech (on acft) for my first 4 yrs of active duty, yet the "doing a job and not keeping track of the parts as you go thing" drives me a little over the edge ... Can only imagine how a guy like you feels about it.

Here's to being a couple normal guys. ;)

And your post Christmas activity is making me tired just sipping my coffee. Have you been hanging out with Tom?

Have a great day buddy!

    Morning all!

That link is interesting in that the guy probably spends all day taking selfies of his junk but could not record what the hell he was doing while taking apart the truck.

No snow here yet. We will have a hot fire season next year if it does not start snowing soon. It will also impact steelhead runs.

Hello again CODs&Ds. Finally out from under Christmas guests/meals/entertaining. Now comes cleanup, shouldn't be too bad because we kept up with it pretty well as events moved along. Best news of all, two solid days of heavy water use + a houseload of people taking showers did not cause any more plumbing emergencies! :woot: I may even get the holes in the yard filled back in before things freeze solid.

Paul, thanks for sharing more about Charlie's service. We lost my mother in law just before Christmas last year so I have some small idea of what you and the family and friends are going through.

As for small leftover parts, I have a boxful. :anonymous: When I wrenched for a living I was much more careful; we didn't have cameras galore like now, and the ones we did have had film in them, but I kept stuff like old muffin tins and so on to keep track of parts on complex jobs. I've gotten a bit sloppy over the years since I've been out of the profession.

Looks like DoorDing nailed it about 30 mins ago.

Will it still go to lemon law court? Seems it'd be best if Ford were ordered to buy it back. She needs to be able to walk away from that POS. I can believe this, Charlie's gone, and still this Escape battle drags along. Unreal... :frusty:

That's what I thought it was. I like to see the nutso responses some of these threads have. DD tries to help and does a good job of staying till the end.

If the engine is ordered for the car then I think they can't go through lemon law as they are fixing the issue. They agree to a problem so I'm not sure. If this is true then the process is on hold or has to be restarted if this does not solve the issue. I don't deal with the legality, I just try to fix shit...

Manic Mike: You live anywhere near Moscow? A woman that lived down the street from me moved out there years ago. I was just talking to her brother today, I knew she moved to Idaho but didn't know where.

I started school at the U of I in 1976. I found a job and went to work that same year. I retired in Moscow in 2007. I lived there until 2009. I then sold the house and moved down on the Clearwater River. I live about 45 miles from Moscow.

I started career two in Lewiston. Lewiston is about 25 miles down river from where I live.

As a side note, I started out in Philly.
    What is her name?

    Thanks for the info Paul.
Now that I have the info I can see why it's still going forward.
When your company specific you don't bother reading or learning of other companies issues as you have your own problems to worry about.
Since the engine is not the only thing then and them pulling the car off the road then I cant imagine her not winning. However, I see a lot of things that don't make sense so it's great your going with her. Between all of you they should get all the info.
    Good luck to you all....

    Morning Everyone.

I really feel sorry for Charlies wife and the issues with the Escape Paul. My wife is having issues with the wiring in her Kia Sportage for a year and a half. They dropped off a loaner for her last Thursday night and we haven't gotten her car back since then:confused:...It is a pain in the ass not having the car you purchased to drive, but until they say "we can't do anymore", our hands are tied and we can't take them to court which could be another 2 year drag out and then replacement value of the car will be ZILCH:goingcrazy:. Sorry for the rant on a Sunday morning..

Weather here has been very mild and it's raining now. Christmas decorations will stay up until New Years Day when they come down and packed away till next year.

Saw the movie "Unbroken" last night. It was excellent. The wife read the book and said it followed the book very well except for a lot of graphic stuff that happened to the men in the POW camps. At the end they had a few pictures of Louie Zamperini and showed him in a video carrying the Olympic torch in Japan at age 80 . Great story. Great memorial to a great man.

    Have a good day all.
