 Hello COD&D's. We got about 2" too, more nuisance than anything. I don't think I'll bother with the driveway at all except where we park the cars. Driving home from NJ was fun. My first time in the Taco in truly slippery conditions. It was a total champ! In fact at one point on a steep hill I thought, heck, take it out of 4wd and let's see how it does. It was already in 2wd! Great traction, no drama. I was very impressed. The nearly new Michelin M/S2's probably played a big part.

Seriously cold weather for the next couple of days. Got to keep the woodstove stoked! Stay warm all.

    Ken:
I picked up the Samsung GS5. It works with the Galaxy Tab S very well.

Had a little trouble activating the phones but the Verizon technician was pretty sharp and fixed both internal problems.

    Kitchen Update:
Waiting for the funds to hit the bank account so I can begin signing contracts. The only variable I still have is the lighting and electrical material costs. I have $2750 in the budget for them and believe the cost will total out around 2K. With the changes and extras we added on I am 8K over my original budget depending on how you look at it. I had originally figured in a 5K upper figure from the base that the 8K is measured from. Wife is happy so I will not complain. ;)

    Afternoon all:
We only got about 2" here, and they are salting the crap out of the roads. :(
I think I can hear the Tacoma rusting!
Have been out hunting with the flintlock quite a bit, and have yet to see a tail. Oh well, at least I'm working the Christmas goodies off the waistline.

:woot:on getting the phones working Tom. I may have to buy one sooner or later, probably later! :D
Just to make you feel better, that 8k would have only be about $800---50 yrs. ago.: inflation adjusted!!!!!

Too funny Carl. When I helped my dad do a complete gut and rebuild of the kitchen 25 years ago I spent around 18K which included an Atrium door, the most expensive single item. The cabinets were a little over 8K. The cabinets on this rebuild are $16,300 with a few embellishments.

Lakeview makes some fine cabinets at a decent cost point. The company is located in Hanover, PA.

    Good Morning All

Hi Tom, I am due for an upgrade for my phone in July. I love my S4 so I'll wait and see how you do with the S5 and if they don't have an S6 or 7 or whatever number by then, I will probably upgrade to an S5.

Keeping the wife happy is the main thing Tom, Like the adage goes "A Happy wife is a Happy Life" :D

Hi Carl, Need to be careful out there in this cold:eek:. I think all the deer packed up and left for Florida till warm weather returns:).
Down here they put a lot of that brine down on the roads and then after it snows they salt hell out of it so I can hear mine rusting as I type:(. I try to run it through the car wash and get the bottom rinse, but I don't know if that really helps or not:confused: but maybe better than not doing it at all:rolleyes:..

    Have a good day all:playball:

    Morning all.

:woot: for keeping wife happy ... not only happy, but easier, life as well.
Everything got so much better once I figured that one out. ;)

Ken and Carl, Have ya'll looked into applying Fluid Film to your frame? I know a lot of the rust problems we hear about are from your region for exactly the reason you state. ... I did some spot application on a couple areas I noticed surface rust on my frame this past Fall; we don't have the salt problem here--so far it's very minor on my frame. The stuff appears to be holding up very well. I'm going to look into getting a pressure washer and go with the full deal application kit this Spring, as I want to keep this truck as long as possible. I also thought about checking with the tractor equipment place I found the Fluid Film in spray cans at, and see if their service department would do the cleaning and application, and at what price -- might be worth paying them. :notsure:

Good morning Rob  ...too cold outside. 2* with a -10* wind chill. BRRRRRR.
Is Fluid Film the brand name? it sounds like it might be something to look into to. They put too much salt down and it only ends up rotting the frames, brake and fuel lines ...

Try to stay warm and have a good day my friend.

Yep ... Fluid Film. I found it at a local tractor equipment place. Only bought a rattle can because I'm always a little skeptical, but like I said, it appears to be holding up very well. I know DoorDing (one of our 40+ crew) is applying it liberally to his frame with a sprayer set up after first pressure washing everything. :notsure:

You have a great day as well...and stay in somewhere warm. ;)

Good morning guys. School has another 2 hour delay s I went to the gym early.

Ken: If Samsung is true to form the S6 should be out in September, at full cost for early adopters and enough time to go on sale for Christmas.

Going to Home Depot to look at electrical switches today. They are more expensive than you may think.

And a longer one. ;) As my more southern compatriots might say: Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

That's been getting my attention. I need to do some more research but it sounds pretty good. My 2005 Impreza just failed state inspection for a rusted through front subframe. :(
No sticker shock here, I shopped them a few times recently. They do all sorts of tricks these days besides just turning the lights on and off. Some of the tricks seem silly to me but then I'm a stodgy minded decrepit old coot.

I did just pick up a motion sensor model for the closet under the stairs though. Open the door, light comes on. Close the door, light goes off (after 1 minute). Nice! But it's programmable, which means there is a computer chip inside it, which means - in my experience anyway - someday it will lose its little mind and decide for itself when to turn on and off.

Cool! A little before my interest in music began though, so I learned something today. Already!

    Stay warm everyone.
