    Good morning all!

That is a shame about Bear. Odds are his eye will be okay if not perfect. It most likely will depend on the amount of nerve damage.

Well, today is the beginning of my weekend, and I intend to enjoy it. Mostly I will be doing chores outside, but it isn't supposed to do more than drizzle later this morning. If I see a little sunshine this afternoon, I'll pump a few rounds through the 1911.

This time next week I will be in Dallas for business. I intend to eat, sleep, and if there is any sunshine I'll sit in it.

At times, I miss my retirement. I retired at 55 for three years. I do not need to work, but it keeps me mentally, physically and socially active. I know it is good for me, I'd turn into a grouchy old hermit otherwise, but I sure miss screwing off.

    Morning all:
Sorry to hear about the dog Rob, hope all will turn out ok.

Looks like they didn't contribute enough to the campaign fund!

Hey Mike; I could easily be a grouchy old hermit! Way too many liars, thieves, and general AH's in society anymore!
Just remember, if you have enough money you will be eccentric; not crazy! :D

    Morning all.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm sure he'll be ok.

About the beer ... Damn politicians  the older I get the less I care for the whole lot anymore, regardless of party (at least the two main). The system has become so corrupt and money based that a 3rd party willing to actually accomplish something for the people versus special interest can't gather enough support (money) to succeed. :frusty: ABORT RANT. ;)

Have a good day all. :)

    Carl,
I'll agree general society is getting pretty bad, but there are still good people around. I have been running a retail business for just about 5 years. In that time I have had one bad check, and I do not ask for ID. The check was from an individual who had been using the same bank for 30 some years without bouncing a check. The bank told me the last few months had seen several. I believe he is beginning to slip a little. His wife came down and paid the check.

Last week I gave a guy a part that is hard to come by. It has to be fitted, and being used it had been fitted before. I told him to take it home and try it. If it worked he was to return and work out a price with me. He showed up a few days later to pay for the part. We do business on a handshake, and so far it has not failed me.

In the kitchen closed under the stairs going upstairs I store a lot of my toy train stuff. A lot of toy train stuff.
10 years ago I could have moved it all out from the closet and put it up in the attic in a half hour. It took an hour yesterday. The good news is that the cleaning out the kitchen for the demolition has begun.

So I drove the Tacoma down to my sisters house to replace an electrical switch for her today. The round trip was 194 miles. I tried to get the best gas mileage I could and managed 23.9. Not bad for crappy winter gas. I know I could have hit 25 if it was the summertime and a weekday.

Thanks 6, we appreciate it.

:woot: Impressive Tom. I managed 23.5 one time in my 4x4 on hwy tires in Summer shortly after I bought it. Those days are behind me now on my LT ATs, but they serve their function. ;)

You got it done, so that's what counts.... :notsure:  :p :D

crappy winter gas?? That's all we ever have... no such thing as "winter gas" anywhere I've been.... it all has ethanol, unless you can find a place selling pure gas

hmmm best I've gotten is 21 on a road trip - only on parts... other parts :anonymous: get about 16

Mine is a 4cyl...in Winter on Blizzaks and Summer on the very heavy LT ATs I average around 20 (19-21). Put some towing on the tank and it drops down to 16-17.

Evening all. Went and saw AMERICAN SNIPER yesterday with fam. They were talking about it all day on talk radio.
They repeated what I experienced. Silence like going to a fu eral. Respect for each other. Applause and standing ovation when it was over. Wife cried.
One definitely for the collection when it's available.

That's what the wife said. LOL

Rob I normally get 20 MPG around town and such. Trucks have such tall gears in the rear end.

Actually kind of fun driving around 60 MPH in 5th gear with not a lot of traffic.
