Its not ground ckt its static electricity. Be careful at gas stations, you can literally ignite the gas fumes. No kidding.

Zach - I'm president of a small college so I understand your issues with faculty. The reality is that there is no teacher certification to teach at the college level. Unlike in elementary and secondary ed, where you have to be certified, all you need to teach college is the right education level. They assume you can teach...and we know that is a bad assumption. At our college, we've created a department that focuses on teaching our faculty how to teach, how to assess ndis focused on keeping students in class, engaged and successful. We are an exception to the rule.

However, as you go through life whether in college or in work you'll find people like this guy. We still have some at our college. They are everywhere. So, I would approach him and the class as a way to learn how to succeed despite hurdles put in front of me. Don't let his attitude affect your success - be successful to spite him. In the end, you'll feel better and he'll be pissed. You win.

We also have a very successful program in training people to work in the petroleum and natural gas industry. If there is one skill set needed desperately now it is welders...good welders can write their own tickets and at huge salaries. If he's not getting begged to work....there is a reason.

^^^ Ditto! Well said. I was thinking to myself as I was reading that, "why is this hotshot welder not out there making serious dollars welding?" But like 6 said, you're in the class, and he's the teacher. You've got lemons, so make lemonade.

    Thanks paul.
    Gen and all blowers full.
Gen runs about 2.5 hours per fill. About a gal. Have about 8 gal extra.
Might get another 5 on the way in to work tomorrow.
Not sure what's up on Tuesday as its my late shift and I won't be home till the storm has dumped. Suppose to start tomorrow night after 7 and run till wed.
What sucks is they will make us come in until it's so bad no one will be on the road and then send us home. Wife will be home np but I have to get the gen setup. So we will see what happens.
I'm not looking forward to this situation. Maybe they might suprise us and do something about it.

I was going to get another gen this year but had to get the JD. Mine is a little 2300 watt home made. Runs the furnace, fridge and a light. I can run a hot plate with the fridge unplugged. It has saved my ass more times. Like 3 days after an ice storm. It works... I can stay in the house while others have gone to motels.
Just be careful and be smart. I know you are..

    HI SUE !!!!

    Evening all:
 Historic snow storm being predicted!

Good to hear you're satisfied with the snowblower Mike, looks like you will get to use it again over the next few days. :(

Neat pic of the train with a rotary snowblower; never saw one of them in action.

Hope you're OK after the fall Paul, at least you didn't break anything. It seems like you go down harder as you get older.

Happy birthday Zac, you'll be old before you know it! :D
OLD SCHOOL---static strap/chain; try it, should work.
A guy I know for years has a brother that is qualified to do underwater welding, $$$$$$. Good to hear you are trying to learn a skill, low wage jobs can make life tough. I remember a help wanted ad in the local paper that wanted welders for General Dynamics boat works (submarines) in Connecticut. Thought at the time; wish I could weld!
    Good luck!

First time out on the ice today:yay:, caught 4 keeper perch. :woot:
Temp. wasn't too bad, but darn wind was brutal.

    Almost forgot! HI Sue
