Replacing the gear box seal on a washer is a pain...you have to damn near disassemble the whole washer...like Tom suggested, do your shopping on line and see what deals are out there...any scratch and dent stores (Sears has some) near by? you can get some good deals if you don't mind some imperfections in the metal...Ken

My washer is... lets see got it in May/Jun of '97 so, it's nowhere near new... Was going to get a new one when I bought my house, but, didn't "NEED" a new one, so... now 9 1/2 years later it might be time...

morning all: was out scouting yesterday. not too much sign. got in the truck and about 1/2mi. down the road stood a wallhanger buck. this area is really thick, but i'm going to be back up there. probablly never see him again. wasn't too far from pocono raceway.

my project for today is to convert lat. long. over to UTM on the gps, and create some waypoints. I'm one of the few that uses UTM, based on the 1000 m. grid. find it very easy to use.

    morning gang....

Had a scare with Zoie last night... she got a bottle of my gear oil  and had broken the seal. Don't think she got more than a taste, but scared the you know what out of me. The bottle has been in the same spot for the last 2 1/2 months and she never messed with it before. Called the pet poison hot line and they said not to worry, unless she started throwing up or getting diarrhea. Thankfully no issues, just have to watch her closer.

    welcome Bob

Sue, Morning, When the dogs get in something that is ?? take to the back yard and get as much of a (16oz.) bottle of peroxide as you can down the hatch. Not nice to see but what ever is in there is coming out. Jim

I was ready to... but after talking to the poison folks, and don't think she got much if any more than a taste. There was no oil on the side of the bottle and only a little on the seal and there was only a tiny hole in the seal. Now if the seal had a big hole and there was oil all over the bottle, I'd have done that in a heart beat.

Now, do I even have any peroxide... adding peroxide to shopping list

Thanks for the welcome. We were snowed out at work today so I'm enjoying a rare Saturday off. From spring 'til winter we usually go six days a week so this is a nice change.

I'm supposed to be semi-retired but I think some people haven't gotten the word yet. :D

Maybe if I just quit answering the phone things would settle down a little?

Thanks. Happy to hear your dog was ok. I don't use any poisons in the house/yard because of the dogs. never in my life thought she'd take a full bottle to play with  Now she's not allowed out unless I go out.
