Trying to finish up on a shed build. The heat makes it harder than it should be. Plan is to get the sides done along with the roof and shingles tomorrow.

Hi Tom, Looks good! Just be careful with the heat. Are you puttin' electric for a fridge, TV and A/C in?? Make a nice man cave. :) I had a shed at the old house and before I knew what happened, the wife had it filled with deck furniture in the fall and gardening stuff in the summer. So much for "My Shed".
Take care and have a good weekend.

We have a cooler with water and gatoraid next to the jobsite. No electric in the shed. I do not need the permit hassles. Maybe at a later date if I need power. I have an outlet about 25 feet away and a lot of extension cords. ;)

Tom, Nice shed as John said the other half took over the one that came with the house.Had to build my own man shed a place for the yard stuff and the atv. After the permit man put his John Doe on it I ran water and power to it just a 110 and a 1/2 pvc water line but they are both good to have. Nice to have a light at nite and a place to wash your hands. Jim

Hello over 60's crowd. What advice or words of wisdom could you share with someone who is approaching 40? They say hindsight is 20/20, so i was just wondering what you fellas would have done different, or not cared so much about. Seeing yall on here makes me think getting older isn't so bad. Ever since we had the kids time seems to be flying by, want it to slow down i guess.. yall have a good weekend. Mike

Mike.Ill be in the dirt before you but I would not go back to 40 if I could. My old pals and I down here are having the times of our lives for the most part. Most are not working anymore so to me thats the best part time to fish, hunt, surf sit around the fire and do notah. The most are middle class so the only thing I would like to have is more $ but thats been the whole life long thing. 3 of us rented a motor home and went out to bike week in Sturgis S.D.last year that was a blast. The wife and I are going down to St Martin for our 40th this Oct.. Next summer me and 5 of my vet. pals are going back to Da Nang just to look around (This time with out guns) really looking forward to that.. Enjoy you kids and what you have your time to be gray and free will come all to quick. Oh Im a x coon ass moved down here from Shreveport in 1963. Stop in and say hi to the old farts anytime Jim

Hi Mike, What river rat 69 (Jim) said. I wouldn't do it again either. Like I say to people "Life is good". Kids are grown, grandkids all good, wife and I still work but only because we like to travel a lot. Working to support a family is different than working to support a life style that you enjoy makes work more tolerable. I learned to enjoy life for what it is not for what it coulda been.

I tell you Jim, these youngsters have no respect! If you want to save the rock salt and punji's, I can mix up a napalm cocktail and really smoke their ass:bananadead:.

Jim, noticed the missus and you are going to St. Marten in Oct. The wife and I have been goin' there for over 20 years. If you need any information, drop me a pm and I will help you out anyway I can. We also have Viet Nam on our travel agenda, when I don't know yet but we do want to get there.

Morning boys, John the pups are a hand full I get them up to feed them at 11:30 pm and they sleep till 6:00 am or so, so its not as bad as it was.We have been going down to Barbados for 40 years Seaway and long bay are the best. Sister in law and her new other half have a time share down there( St Martin) so they are letting us use it. I want to do some deep water fishing and a lot of beers by the pool. They say its the nicest place down there so Ill let you know after Oct.. One of my vet. pals from Cal. went back to (Viet Nam) last summer and he said it was the time of his life. He said Da Nang was nice and the folks over there went out of there way to be nice when they found out he was a Nam vet. He was in a bar and there was a line of young (under30 yr. old's) wanting to shake his hand. He said one spoke good English And told him thank you for trying to make us free. He had to go back to the hotel for a good cry. He was shocked the V.N.'s had more respect for him then the U.S.A. did. Jim

At least they sleep thru the night. That's a good thing. Was to Barbados once and stayed at Sam Lords Castle. It was nice. Best drinking water in the world! Do you know what time share they have? We have one at Sapphire Beach club and the economy here has really hurt the islands. Good to know about the reception in Nam. We will probably be going in 2 years or so. I always thank a member of the service past and present because of the treatment we all got during the Nam era. Take care and enjoy the pups.

X2 on pups sleeping almost all night, the trick is lots of food. The barbados are way cool. We always stay at the castaways in Seaways its N. of Long bay about 5 mi. or so. The blue green water and white sand is some of the best in the world. The time share in St Martin is called the trade winds it is only 5 years old or so they rent all kinds of toys right there. we are going to get a speed boat for a least one day and just burn some gas looking around. The other half hates jet skies but I have to have one for a day.Yes made my day to hear about V.N. from a long time pal who was there with me. We took a lot of shit from the peace nicks back then but who gives a shit what a pantywaist thinks. Later, Jim
