    Morning all:

    Hi Sue!
The mouse doesn't have a ball, it's laser. Like I said, on the desk surface, or on the other side of the pad, it works fine. :notsure:

    Morning all.

Here's my Copper River fishing trip report. (Yes, it's a cut n paste from my 40+ post )

Copper River trip went relatively well. 5 of us caught 160 Reds and 14 Kings in a little less than two days. We got shut down for 14 hours due to winds/blowing glacier silt dust; the winds always show up for a spell every trip, but this was the worst and longest period we've ever seen. Some of the gusts had to be close to 80mph, which brought visibilty done to a few yards at times. We normally don't have the camper on Randy's big truck when we go to Copper River, glad we did this trip ... the shelter was needed and a safe place to wait out/sleep for the 14 hour shut down. Winds started Wed around 2 PM and didn't die down until 4 AM Thursday. We left the river 11:30 AM Thursday.

Now the fun starts today with fish processing ... here's a pic of Randy (fishing/hunting partner) with the biggest King:

Doc said I have bone spurs where the tendons attach at the top of my heel and on the underside; she showed me the x-rays and pointed out where my achilles tendon was apparently injured a long time ago. I don't recall it ever hurting. Maybe my sometimers is getting me again. :notsure: She is having some shoe inserts mailed to me and I have to pick my footwear with substantial heel support/cushioning. Biggest change will be finding a pair of house shoes with a substantial heel. She said most important thing for getting it to heal was to not go bare footed, ever. After seeing the x-rays and having her explain what was going on, it all makes sense to me. Hope I can compensate for it and not have to do any kind of surgery.

Once again, I have nothing but good to say for our VA medical folks here in Alaska. My experiences with them have been excellent, unlike some of the horror stories we read about in other places.

    Thanks for asking Susan. :)

 Now that's a fish, sounds like you had a good trip.

Don't know if this will help, but maybe a shoemaker could add some height to heels on shoes if needed.
Trouble is, there aren't too many shoemakers around anymore!

Morning Carl. Yep, it was a good trip all in all. We'll have fish in the freezer. :)

Last couple shoes I bought, and wear regularly, have heels that fit the specs. I think I was heading in that direction already due to the discomfort I was feeling, I just didn't know what was causing it. I don't know if there's a shoemaker anywhere around here; but there's one pair of boots I might look into having modified...thanks for the idea.

Not too bad, better than I expected. Just bought some shoes today to wear inside the house only. Doc said no going barefoot, it's the worst thing to keep the tendon from healing.

Understand about the heat ... I'd probably die walking from the house to the truck. Glad you're healed, you'll be ready when/if the heat wave breaks.

With the heat, are you working on the baby stuff?

Just gonna say it's HOT outside!!!! Moar water!!!!! Glug, glug, glug!!! Stumps have dried out some, so not quite as heavy to move. Trimming some of the roots to make them easier to roll. gonna try and get them to the street with a "free firewood" sign!!! Oh, to be 20 years younger and stronger :anonymous: would make this work so much easier

Started on the blanket. Have three rows done. Not 100% sure I like it with the yarn I have yet.... The shell pattern looks great with separate colors... Will keep going and if I don't like it, I can rip it out

Oh, well.... I hope someone takes it, since there is NO WAY I'll get them in the truck or into the container at the recycle center. Maybe just drag them around the neighborhood until they're small enough :D
