Here's how much I watch news on TV: I didn't know about the twin towers until my DIL called the house and said "OMG turn on the TV!!!" about 4 hours in. I was hanging drywall. :anonymous:

We are all getting sick of the news :puke:, people go for the garbage news. Just look at what's on the newsstands:eek:...The National Enquirer, and other junk publications. At least with the papers you can sometimes get an unbiased report on the editorial pages.

DO NOT BREAK ROCKS ON A DAY LIKE TODAY! o_O
I swear my lawn grows them, and then the blades of the lawnmower find them. :(

Waiting on the rain to hit here Carl. It's on it's way. Be glad you just have rocks, when the kids were home, I had tennis balls, hard balls, golf balls, my missing wrenches and soda cans...It's amazing how these items get camouflaged in the grass.

    Evening all.
As you know vacation has a dark side.
    Like WORK......
    so pics to follow.
    New handrail on the house.
Door rot removal and recondition. (Painting to follow later on).
    Pressure washed the driveway.
Just finished repairing the bad cracks and depressions in the driveway.
As long as it don't rain to hard I'll be ok. If not I'm back to square one on the crack repair.
The last things to do is paint the door.
    Seal the driveway.
With no pressure(equals no stress) I actually had a calm, productive week.
Did a little fishing and a little more to do.
So if I can get the drive sealed tomorrow or Sat I'll be able to roll the boat out Sunday
    for one more round..

    Hello all

Why do kids do that with tools? I remember having to lock up all my tools during the first half of the boy's teen years.

    Enjoy the fishing.

i had this new door put on like 10 years ago because the first one rotted out. it even had a storm door.
storm door made it worse. So i'll have to replace it in a few years.

You know you're in the oldtimer's thread when everybody's complaining about the weather...

I had issues with my wife's purchase of a split system AC recently. I now have no issues, as it was money well spent. But now I will be putting a photovoltaic system on the roof to take care of the higher power bill, so more money spent. It's going to be very hot & muggy this weekend, and I was thinking, "no problem, we have AC now". Then I remembered that I was going to do a 4 wheel brake job on the wife's BMW. Wish I had an air conditioned garage. Maybe all the parts won't arrive, so I can put it off til next weekend.

I really shouldn't be complaining about the heat, as I see some of you are in triple digits. We're screaming when it gets into the upper 80's.

It is beautiful in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. Had less then 1 inch of rain this week and temps are normally under 80

    You have one?

Just got done painting the soffit and facia---:annoyed:, one of those days!
Started off by making a mess while pouring the paint from the gal. bucket into a small container, then the small container of paint fell off of the ladder and made another mess, paint splashed all over me and the ladders plus the ground.
Later on I went to clean up the lid and the top of the gal. bucket, and lost my hold on the lid which ended up about midriff with the paint side against my shirt.
I've painted quite a bit and never had things happen like today!
The good news is: I didn't fall off the ladder!!!

Awesome way to make your door go out of adj.
We use stuff like this to get it to close. Dumb
The tomato soup can metal we have don't like stuff like this.
Oh yea. Smelled brakes on the way to pick up my driveway sealer.
Lucky me had a rr caliper seize. So I fixed that..... Better now than after vacation.
